The sulfoperoxycarboxylic compounds have storage stability, water solubility, and low or no odor. Further, the compounds are extracted from non-petroleum-based renewable materials. SOLUTION: The method of manufacturing a solid detergent composition comprises: (i) combining: (a) 25 to 80 wt% of sodium carbonate; (b) 1 to 30 wt% of aminotri(methylenephosphonate); and (c) 0.9 to 1.3 mol of water per mol of carbonate to form a blended mass; and (ii) adding non-hydrated sodium carbonate and a binding agent comprising mono-hydrated sodium carbonate and aminotri(methylenephosphonate) for solidification. The solid does not contain a source of alkalinity other than sodium carbonate. The blended mass is formed into a solid by extrusion molding.
