    • A bicycle pedal assembly includes a pedal body, a pedal shaft, a retaining member, a disc member, a torsional spring member and a pedal shaft. The pedal body has a frame portion and a tubular portion which partitions the frame portion. A cleat engaging unit is connected to the tubular portion. The retaining member is connected non-rotatably to an end of the tubular portion. The disc member has a plurality of projections which engage correspondingly a plurality of cavities that are formed in the frame portion. The torsional spring member interconnects the retaining member and the disc member in order to position revertably the cleat engaging unit at a predetermined angle with respect to the frame portion. The torsional force of the torsional spring member can be adjusted by disengaging the projections on the disc member from the cavities of the frame portion, rotating the disc member by an angle, and engaging the projections and the cavities.

    • A pedal for a bicycle includes an axial rod, a pedal body and two fastening assemblies which are mounted on the pedal body. The pedal body is assembled to the axial rod and having an upper portion and a bottom portion, and a first locking member and a second locking member. The first locking member and the second locking member are both located between the upper portion and the bottom portion. The two fastening assemblies are assembled to the first locking member and the second locking member respectively. Under this arrangement, each fastening assembly is assembled to the pedal body directly rather than be assembled to a further pedal as the prior art, so that the pedal for a bicycle of the present invention is lighter than the conventional pedal.

    • A quick release device for a pedal includes a spindle, a connecting unit connected to the spindle, and a quick release mechanism connected to the connecting unit. The spindle has a protrusion extending from one end thereof and an annular groove defined in an outer peripheral thereof The connecting unit has a receiving hole defined therein, a guiding hole defined in a lateral thereof and communicated with the receiving hole, and a retaining hole defined therein and communicated with the receiving hole. The quick release mechanism includes a rod partially received in the guiding hole and a spring biased against the rod toward the receiving hole. In assembly the protrusion engages with the retaining hole and the rod engages with the annular groove.

    • A bicycle pedal assembly includes a pedal body, a coiled spring member and a pedal shaft. The pedal body has a frame portion and a tubular portion which partitions the frame portion. A cleat engaging unit is connected to the tubular portion. The coiled spring member interconnects the frame portion and an end of the tubular portion in order to position revertably the cleat engaging unit at a predetermined angle with respect to the frame portion. The pedal shaft extends through the coiled spring member and the tubular portion so that the frame portion is rotatable about the pedal shaft. The pedal shaft has a first end which extends beyond the frame portion and a second end which engages rotatably the tubular portion.

    • A clipless pedal is disclosed herein which includes a mounting support fixed to a shoe sole and a pedal body which is rotatably mountable to a conventional pedal shaft for retaining the mounting support. The pedal body has a pair of rear jaw members which revertably engage the pedal body. The pedal body, mounting support and rear jaw members all have surfaces shaped in such a manner to ensure the mounting support is rotatable and can push the rear jaw members to allow a lateral disengagement of the mounting support from the pedal body. The rear jaw members are each coupled to the pedal body by a screw member which passes through the jaw member into a respective slot in a V-shaped groove formed in the pedal body. A spring member circumvents the screw member for revertable force against the jaw. The slots are preferably of different lengths so that one jaw member can move a greater distance than the other whereby sufficient rotation for lateral disengagement is more readily attained when rotation is of the cyclist's heel in the outward direction rather than the inward direction.
