    • The present invention is concerned with an alarm system and a method for suppressing redundant alarms in a monitored system. The alarm system comprises a process control unit, an FDI unit, a filter, and an alarm display unit. The process control unit detects anomalies in the monitored system and generates alarms corresponding to them. The FDI unit diagnoses failures in the monitored system and generates a failure-cause-effect graph comprising a list of generated alarms, along with the alarms corresponding to the causes and effects of each listed alarm. The FDI unit dynamically updates the failure-cause-effect graph concurrently with the generation of alarms by the process control unit and the diagnosis of failures by the FDI unit. The filter receives the generated alarms and identifies redundant and not-yet-classified alarms from the received alarms, by using the failure-cause-effect graph. The filter suppresses the identified redundant alarms and passes on non-redundant and the not-yet-classified alarms to the alarm display unit, for display.

    • The disclosure concerns a method and an apparatus for adapting at least one set of parameters to at least one Intelligent Electronic Device (IED) of an electrical power network having a plurality of switching devices (CB). The method includes: a) reading the current network status of the electrical power network, wherein the network status includes the status of the plurality of switching devices; b) simulating at least one network fault in the electrical power network; c) deducing at least one new set of parameters for the at least one IED using a simulated fault current induced by the at least one simulated network fault under consideration of the present network status and the network topology of the electrical power network; and d) setting the at least one set of parameters in at least one of the at least one IED. The apparatus a) reads the current network status of the electrical power network, b) selects the at least one set of parameters for the at least one Intelligent Electronic Device out of a plurality of sets of parameters depending of the current network status; and c) sets the at least one set of parameters in the at least one IED.

    • A method and system are disclosed for controlling a distribution of electrical power in a power distribution network having a first power distribution region and a second power distribution region. The first power distribution region can include first primary devices that interact with first process devices, and the second power distribution region can include second primary devices that interact with second process devices a distribution controller including a standardized description of the first region. A first distribution controller can be connected to the first process devices, can control a distribution of electrical power in the first power distribution region, and can identify, following a network reconfiguration, an orphan network section that is disconnected from the first region and connected to the second region. The first distribution controller can transmit a standardized description of the identified orphan network section to a second distribution controller connected to the second process devices.

    • A system and method of converting a file is disclosed that is based on a first standard to a file that is based on a second standard. The concerned standards can be IEC 61970 and IEC 61850 or their equivalents. For conversion, a file based on IEC 61970 is coded according to CIMXML (RDF Schema), and a file in IEC 61850 is coded according to SCL (XML Schema). The data in each file is modelled by using a UML model for the corresponding standard. The method includes the automatic generation of mapping rules that can be based on the UML models of the two standards and the mappings between the two standards. The method further converts the identified elements by using the generated mapping rules. Finally, post-processing rules can be applied to the converted elements to generate the file, based on the second standard.

    • The present invention relates to a device for storing and/or mixing and/or injecting cements, especially bone cements. The device includes a tube having a longitudinal axis, a front end with an outlet opening, a rear end; and an internal cylindrical cavity having a first end and a second end; a locking mechanism detachably connected to the front end of the tube so that the outlet opening can be sealed; and a lid detachably connected to the rear end of the tube; the lid having a borehole extending therethrough. The device also includes: a mixer having a mixing shaft sized and configured to extend through the borehole formed in the lid and a mixing tool at one end thereof, the mixer being axially and rotationally moveable inside of the cavity; driving means connected to the mixer shaft so that the mixer can be axially and rotationally moved with respect to the tube; and first restraining means for limiting the axial movement of the mixer with respect to the tube so that the a minimum distance A remains between the front face of the mixing tool and the front wall of the cavity; wherein the cylindrical cavity has a diameter D and the mixing tool has a maximum dimension X such that X is less than D.
