摘要： A data communication apparatus and an electronic mail data producing method are provided that are capable of allowing a file name to be easily added to a file attached to an electronic mail and also allowing a file name to be added to a file attached to an electronic mail, which is commensurate with the contents of the date to be transmitted. A CPU of the data communication apparatus combines a page number allotted to each of the images converted into files with the subject of the electronic mail that is inputted, to generate an attached image file name, and transmits the electronic mail with the image data in the form of files attached thereto together with the generated attached image file names. Therefore, it is not necessary to input the name of an image file attached to an electronic mail, which facilitates the operation of transmitting an electronic mail and enables giving a file name that enables the receiver of the electronic mail to easily recognize the contents of the attached image file.

摘要： When an image read start command is received from a PC, an image reading unit first sequentially reads an image of an original. An output signal of the image reading unit is processed by an analog signal processing circuit, an A/D converter, and an image processing circuit and is supplied to a transfer control circuit. When an instruction from the PC indicates a direct transfer mode, the transfer control circuit outputs the image data from the image processing circuit as it is to an interface. When the instruction from the PC indicates a temporary storage mode, the transfer control unit temporarily stores the image data into a storage medium of an auxiliary storage device. When there is a reading request from the PC, the transfer control circuit reads out the image data which is stored into the auxiliary storage device and transfers it to the PC through the interface.

摘要： An apparatus of this invention divides an image into stripe-shaped images. The image is input in units of divided stripe-shaped images, and outline pixels are traced in units of input stripe-shaped images to extract horizontal and vertical vectors. The extracted vectors are stored in the memory. A vertical vector to be connected to each of the extracted horizontal vectors, and a horizontal vector to be connected to each of the vertical vectors are searched, thereby extracting an outline vector which clarifies the connection relationship among these horizontal and vertical vectors.

摘要： An image processing method and apparatus extracts outline vectors from a binary image, by defining outline points at positions between white pixel area and black pixel area, closer to the black pixel area, to extract vectors representing the black pixel area smaller than the white pixel area. Outline vector patterns are defined in advance in consideration of the length and the direction of an object vector and the lengths and relative directions of preceding and subsequent vectors. Upon smoothing of the image, outline point after the smoothing are determined in accordance with an outline vector pattern that corresponds to the states of an object vector and its preceding and subsequent vectors in an outline.
