    • The device comprises (a) a unitary integrally moulded elongate shaft forming an elongate handle having a proximal end, and a distal end of circular cross-section; and (b) a head comprising a body portion encircling the distal end of the shaft, and flexible filaments of non-absorbent material and of uniform diameter extending transversely from said body portion. The body portion and the flexible filaments are formed as an integral one-piece moulding that is fused to the distal end of the shaft. The rows of flexible filaments are distributed around the head, and each of the flexible filaments is of non-absorbent material and of uniform diameter, extending transversely relative to the integral one-piece moulding.

    • An aerial observation system (1) is described and comprises a tethered aerial platform and a plurality of ground-based monitoring devices. The aerial platform (1) carries a payload comprising a plurality of fixed focal length cameras (4) mounted at selected positions about the aerial platform (1) and communication means (5) connected to the plurality of cameras (4) for transmitting, independently to each of the plurality of ground-based monitoring devices, a data signal comprising image data captured by one or more of the plurality of cameras (4). Each ground-based monitoring device is independently operable to select and display an image area of interest from the image data contained in the data signal. By utilising fixed focal length cameras instead of the normal (but much heavier, more delicate and more power-hungry) pan, tilt and zoom cameras conventionally used in such application, sensor payload on the balloon can be reduced, robustness can be increased, and battery life improved. Moreover, multiple users are able to independently access different fields of view simply by selecting different image areas out of the image data transmitted (potentially to all base stations) from the aerial platform.

    • A human-propellable vehicle (1) is described which comprises a chassis (2), and a rear wheel assembly (5) mounted to a rear portion of the chassis. The rear wheel assembly comprises a double wishbone suspension assembly, each wishbone (14, 22) of the double wishbone suspension assembly being coupled to the chassis at first and second coupling points, the second coupling point for each wishbone being closer to the rear of the chassis, and closer to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, than the first coupling point for that wishbone. By using a double wishbone set up at the rear of the bike it is possible to control weight transfer more efficiently. By providing a second coupling point for each wishbone which is closer to the rear of the chassis, and closer to the longitudinal axis of the vehicle, than the first coupling point for that wishbone, it is possible to utilise a setup without having to adopt a higher seating position and without having to increase the rear wheel track beyond an acceptable width.

    • A waterproof protective cover for protecting limbs (20) with orthopaedic casts (21), bandages, stitches, and wounds etc. comprises envelope (10) of resiliently flexible sheet material which is folded along one edge 13 to form a pair of walls (11, 12) which are interconnected around their periphery by a seal (14) to define a compartment (15) for receiving the limb 20 to be protected. A cut-out (16) is formed in the folded edge (13) to define an opening into the compartment (15) through which the limb (20) can be inserted. The cut-out 16 is dimensioned to stretch and fit tightly around the projecting part of the limb (20) and thereby provides an extremely effective seal against the ingress of water. The cover is a one-piece unitary member and is simple and inexpensive in construction.
