A plurality of collection elements is configured to produce an electrical signal based upon collecting at least a portion of the far-field scattering signature.

摘要： An anchor assembly having a nut which is pivotably connected to a sleeve which is slideable along a rod housing. The nut is pivotable to and from a position in vertical alignment with rod housing and a position perpendicular to the rod housing in which a threaded nut opening is in vertical alignment with a opening of the rod housing. A flange is disposed above the rod housing and a stop washer is disposed above the flange, the rod insertable within both the flange and washer. The threaded rod is insertable through the rod opening of the rod housing and threadable within the threaded opening of the nut when the nut is in a position perpendicular to the rod housing. When the nut of the anchor assembly is positioned into vertical alignment with the rod housing, the assembly can fit into a narrow hole. Once the nut clears the opening, the nut moves into the position perpendicular to the rod housing so that the rod may be threaded through the nut opening. The rod is threaded through the nut opening until the washer contacts the flange at which point the nut is drawn up to a bottom side of a substrate surface by way of the slideable sleeve.

摘要： Plasma Enhanced Bonding (PEB) during a coating process is used to improve both adhesion and corrosion resistance of the resulting coating. New interfacial compounds may be formed, offering the increased resistance to corrosion, as well as enhanced bonding to the workpiece being coated and any subsequently formed layer, such as diamond-like carbon. In one embodiment, the PEB processing is employed during coating of at least one interior surface of the workpiece, which may be a pipe. In a first step, a thin film is deposited. Then, the film is exposed to a high energy etch-back plasma. This two-step cycle of depositing a film and then providing bombardment of the film may be repeated a number of times. Typically, the deposition step of the cycle is much shorter than the bombardment step.

摘要： A method and system for coating the internal surfaces of a localized area or section of a workpiece is presented. Conductive structures are inserted into one or more openings of a workpiece to define the section to be coated. In some embodiments, a bias voltage is connected to a workpiece section, which functions as a cathode. A gas source and vacuum source are coupled to each conductive structure through a flow control system. The flow control system enables a first opening to function as a gas inlet and a second opening to function as a vacuum exhaust. Only the section encompassed by the conductive structures is coated. When the coating process is completed, a means for varying the conductive structures along the length is utilized to move onto the next section to be coated.

摘要： An optical filter is formed of a layer stack that includes metallic layers and dielectric layers, with at least one dielectric layer being defined by more than one zinc-based film. These zinc-based films have different percentages of zinc. The selections of the percentages are based upon the positions of the films within the dielectric layer. An unexpectedly low sheet resistance is available if the zinc-based film that immediately precedes forming a metallic layer has a percentage of zinc in the range of 80 percent to next to 100 percent. Process stabilization and manufacturing cost are provided by placing the percentage of the lower zinc-based film closer to 50 percent (25-75). Process stabilization is further enhanced by providing an indium-based film within the dielectric layer adjacent to the metallic layer.

摘要： An absorption spectroscopy instrument is provided with a re-injection mirror to greatly increase the optical power coupled into an optical cavity, comprised of two or more mirrors, for the purpose of increasing the quality of absorption and extinction measurements made in the cavity. Light reflected from the first cavity mirror upon which a light beam is incident, can be efficiently collected and back reflected onto the same mirror, effectively producing a plurality of optical injections into the cavity. The instrument can be used for off-axis cavity ringdown spectroscopy, off-axis integrated cavity output spectroscopy, or other cavity-based spectroscopy applications.
