    • The present invention is directed to the field of headwear in general, and untethered headwear which provides filtered air to the user without drying out the user's eyes in particular. A headwear apparatus (1) can include a body locatable on the head of a user (2) and a brim extending outwardly from the front of the body (3), wherein the headwear apparatus comprises an air inlet (4), a housing (5) downstream of the air inlet containing a filter (6) and a fan (7), and a slotted outlet (8) located in the brim, downstream of the filter and fan; wherein the slotted outlet has an outlet axis (9); wherein the brim (3) lies in a first brim plane (10); wherein there is a front dead centre point where the body meets the brim (11), and; wherein the apparatus has a second reference plane (12) which extends perpendicular to the first brim plane through the front dead centre point, and wherein the outlet axis intersects (13) the reference plane at an angle (14) in the range of 25-45 degrees. Also provided is a kit of parts comprising such a hat or headwear and a mobile device.

    • An offshore renewable energy system mounting platform is provided for positioning a renewable energy converter in a body of water. The platform comprises: a frame having a first structural member and a second structural member, the first and second structural members positioned adjacent one another at a mating connection; and at least one mooring member affixed to the frame at a tethering location, the at least one mooring member arranged to tether the frame to a bed of the body of water in an in-use configuration; wherein at least one of the first and second structural members comprises a buoyancy; and wherein in the in-use configuration, a tension in the mooring member is arranged to counteract said buoyancy to urge and/or bias the first and second structural members together at the mating connection. The present disclosure aims to provide a platform that can been manufactured as a set of pre-fabricated modular components in a wide supply chain, which are subsequently assembled into the complete platform at non-specialist outdoor yard facilities without the need for specialist shipbuilding facilities, and which provides optimum stability when deployed.
