摘要： A polishing device is provided which is attachable to a tip holder plate of a concrete polishing machine to polish a concrete surface. The polishing device includes a tip holder that is compression-molded using a heat resistant plastic material to include a plurality of tip support portions. A plurality of polishing tips are inserted into and bonded with the tip support portions of the tip holder with the polishing tips protruding out from the tip support portions when unworn. After the polishing tips are worn an initial amount from polishing the concrete surface, the tip support portions of the tip holder and the polishing tips are adapted to collectively grind the concrete surface.

Methods of filtering a growth medium, such as an agar growth medium, and methods of preparing a growth medium having low gelling point and lower molecular weight characteristics are also provided.

摘要： An abrasive waterjet assembly has a cutting head assembly with a venting system for controlling the flow of abrasive within a cutting head body. The venting system includes one or more vents for regulating the pressure within a cutting head body to minimize, limit, or substantially eliminate any abrasive from reaching a jewel orifice. The vents include venting ports positioned between an orifice mount that retains the jewel orifice and a mixing region in which abrasive is mixed with a fluid jet produced by the jewel orifice. An isolator retained in the cutting head body further inhibits the upstream flow of abrasive, if any.

摘要： A hydraulic machine includes a valve plate, with first and second fluid ports in a surface thereof. A cylinder barrel is rotatably coupled to the valve plate. A plurality of cylinders is formed in the cylinder barrel, such that, as the barrel rotates, each cylinder is coupled to the first and second fluid ports, sequentially. First and second pressure relief ports are formed in the surface of the valve plate between the first and second fluid ports at top- and bottom-dead-center, respectively. A cross-port bore is formed in the valve plate, placing the first and second pressure relief ports in fluid communication with each other. As each cylinder rotates to top-dead-center, an opposite cylinder rotates to bottom-dead-center. The respective cylinders are coupled to the first and second pressure relief ports, such that differential pressure in the cylinders is equalized.

摘要： An apparatus for generating and manipulating a high-pressure fluid jet includes an end effector assembly (14) coupled to a manipulator that imparts motion to the end effector along one or more axes. The end effector assembly includes a cutting head (15) coupled to a source of high-pressure fluid and to a source of abrasive, to generate a high-pressure abrasive fluid jet. A motion assembly is coupled to the cutting head via a clamp (21) positioned around the cutting head. A nozzle body assembly (30) is removably coupled to the cutting head assembly upstream of the orifice. The nozzle body assembly may be separated from the cutting head assembly to allow access to the orifice (17), without removing the cutting head assembly from the clamp. The clamp has a quick release mechanism (81), allowing an operator to open the clamp by hand to allow access to the cutting head, and an alignment member is provided on an inner surface of the clamp to accurately locate the cutting head in the clamp. The motion assembly includes two motors(4 0, 41) coupled together to form a gimbal wrist, each motor having a horizontal axis of rotation (82, 83). The two axes of rotation are perpendicular to each other, but are not necessarily aligned with the manipulator's axes of motion. Spray from the abrasive fluid jet is contained by a shield (37) provided directly in an end region of the cutting head assembly (15).

摘要： An assembly for changing the temperature of ultrahigh-pressure fluid as it flows through ultrahigh-pressure tubing includes several thermally conductive blocks. Each block has a first bore through which the ultrahigh-pressure tubing passes, and a second bore containing a source of heating or cooling. Alternatively, resistance heating is used to increase the temperature of the ultrahigh-pressure fluid, by coupling electrodes to the outer surface of the tubing. The ultrahigh-pressure fluid is heated or cooled after it is pressurized, and is then discharged from the ultrahigh-pressure tubing at a selected temperature for use. For example, the ultrahigh-pressure fluid at a selected temperature may be discharged through a nozzle to form an ultrahigh-pressure fluid jet to cut or clean any desired surface or object, or it may be discharged to a pressure vessel to pressure treat a substance.

摘要： High-pressure fluid jet systems are provided which include a pump to selectively provide a source of high-pressure fluid, a cutting head assembly configured to receive the high-pressure fluid and generate a high-pressure fluid jet for processing workpieces or work surfaces, and a fluid distribution system in fluid communication with the pump and the cutting head assembly to route the high-pressure fluid from the pump to the cutting head assembly.
