    • The invention comprises a method of and apparatus for coupling a lens port (1) to a housing (2) for an underwater camera. The method comprises the steps of providing an inwardly castellated ring (10) and a co-operating outwardly castellated ring (4), the rings comprising part of or being positioned one on the housing (2) and the other on the lens port (1). At least one of the rings (4, 10) is rotatable and the outwardly castellated ring (4) can be passed through the inwardly castellated ring (10).     • A dispensing valve for flowable material comprises a valve plate (26) of resilient polymeric material in which at least one elongate discontinuity is formed.     • A closure for a multiple component container includes an insert (12), a piston (20) and a cap (10).     • An automotive propulsion system includes an internal combustion engine (6) with an inlet air duct (66) and an output shaft (10), which is connected to the input shaft of a transmission system (58) of continuously variable transmission ratio. The transmission system comprises a differential gearset comprising at least three shafts (10, 12), two of which constitute the input shaft and output shaft, respectively and all of which carry at least one gear wheel in mesh with at least one gear wheel carried by one of the other shafts. The transmission system also includes two electric motor/generators (42, 46; 50, 52), the rotors (42, 50) of which are connected to respective shafts and the electrical connections (43, 45) of which are connected to a controller (62) arranged to control the flow of electrical power between them. The propulsion system also includes an electrically driven supercharger (60) communicating with the inlet duct (66) and connected to the controller (62). The controller (62) is programmed so that, at least at speeds of the transmission input shaft (10) and/or transmission output shaft (12) lower than a predetermined threshold value, it is selectively able to direct electrical power from at least one of the motor/generators, which is operating as a generator, to the electric motor of the supercharger (60) so as to increase or decrease the pressure in the inlet duct (66) and thus also the torque applied to the output shaft (12) of the engine.

    • A closure for a beverage container (2), such as a beer bottle, includes a closure plate (l0), connected to which is a diaphragm (20), which together with the closure plate defines a gas reservoir (22). A movable portion (24) of flexible material is integrally connected to the diaphragm (22). The headspace of the container and the reservoir (22) are filled with pressurised gas and when the pressure is released the pressure differential across the movable portion results in rotation about the fold lines with the result that the movable portion moves away from the closure plate so that the gas charge/discharge orifice is situated beneath the liquid surface and the pressurised gas in the gas reservoir (22) is injected into the liquid in the container.

    • A beverage container comprises a bottle (2) which has a central axis and is sealed by a lid (6) of resilient material. The other side surface of the flange is in sealing engagement with the outer surface of the neck (8), whereby an annular chamber (54) is defined by the inner surface of the skirt, the said one side surface of the annular flange, the protuberance and the hinge.
