    • The present invention discloses a method and apparatus for replacing the lining elements (24) of the inner surface of the grinding mill (20). The apparatus includes an own lifting beam (21) and a hoist (23) attached to it for the transportation of elements (24) between the exterior and interior of the mill (20). To this lifting beam (21) there is attached an electric winch (25), with which used and detached elements can be pulled from farther away at one end of the mill along the bottom surface of the mill to a place under the end of the lifting beam (21). The new elements (24u) can again be lowered onto a carriage (30) with the hoist (23) so that the new element (24u) can be transferred to the desired place. After this a second lifting beam (31) with hoist (23) functions as the auxiliary instrument for the installation itself. All new elements can be installed on the width of the second lifting beam from below it, and after this the second lifting beam (31) can be lifted into the air and the mill (20) can be rotated so that a new element area is obtained under the lifting beam (31) for installation. The method and apparatus make possible the delivery of the elements (24, 24u) through the inlet of the mill (20) independently and separately in relation to how the elements (24, 24u) are transported inside the mill and installed by means of the second hoist (32).
