摘要： An apparatus and method for monitoring stored material is disclosed. Material to be stored and monitored is placed within the innermost container of a series of nested containers and monitoring fluids are circulated in a closed loop of fluid flow through the spaces between the nested containers. Monitoring devices are used to analyze said monitoring fluids to detect leakage of the stored material from the innermost nested container and to detect the migration of external fluids into the series of nested containers. A computer based monitoring system continually checks the values of various parameters of the monitoring fluids to immediately detect and report the presence of stored material or external fluid in the monitoring fluids. The stored material may then be immediately retrieved from storage to repair leaks in the series of nested containers. The invention is particularly suited for monitoring the storage of hazardous material such as radioactive waste material.

摘要： A dehumidification dryer configured and operated so at to achieve highe r drying temperatures than traditionally obtainable with dehumidification driers. The invention takes advantage of refrigerants not previously used in the field o f dehumidification drying to achieve temperatures in the range of 180 -225 .degree.F that previously were found only in open hot air kilns, open commercial clothes driers, and other apparatus of high throughput. In order to make optimum use of high - temperature refrigerants, the invention uses variable control rates for dryi ng the air that is used as the drying medium, and restructures the deployment of th e components of the refrigeration circuit that participates in the heat and humidity exchange central to the operation of the drier.

摘要： A rockbolt for installation in a bore in the roof of an underground excavation, such as a tunnel or mine, to support the roof, comprises a sleeve having a closed top and ports in its upper end, a plunger slideably mounted in the sleeve, and hardenable binder material encapsulated in burstable cartridges in the sleeve above the plunger. The rockbolt is inserted into the bore and the plunger is operated either mechanically or by the application of pressurized fluid to the plunger, to extrude the binder material to secure the rockbolt in the bore. A mechanical anchor can be provided on the top of the sleeve so the rockbolt can be tensioned before the binder sets. Alternatively, faster setting binder can be provided in -the sleeve below the balance of the binder so that it is the last to be extruded and remains near the top to secure the top to the surrounding rock before the balance of the binder sets so that the rockbolt can be tensioned before the balance of the binder sets.
