摘要： PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a magnetic recording medium implementing excellent movability and durability, preventing the abrasion of a head and the deterioration of magnetic properties under any working condition, and having excellent storage property by using a lubricant having excellent lubricating effect and protected from the occurrence of powder falling, and at the same time by increasing sticking stability between a protection film and a lubricant layer. SOLUTION: The magnetic recording medium has a magnetic layer 3 consisting of a ferromagnetic metal material, a protecting film 4 and a lubricant layer 6 on a nonmagnetic supporting body 2. The lubricant layer 6 contains, as a lubricant, a compound which is expressed by chemical formula 1 (wherein, Rf is a perfluoropolyether chain; and R1, R2, R3, R4, R5 and R6 are each H or a hydrocarbon group), and is obtained from bifunctional perfluoropolyether having a carboxy group at the terminal and an amine. The magnetic recording medium is used for a helical scanning magnetic record regenerative system using a magnetoresistance effect-type reproducing head. In the magnetic recording medium, an aromatic carboxylic acid-containing absorbing layer 5 is placed between the protecting film 4 and the lubricant layer 6.
