    • A child safety seat comprises a child seat structure having a base support surface for resting on a vehicle seat cushion and a back support surface for abutting against the seat back of the vehicle seat. A rigid link is pivotally attached to the child seat structure so as to project from the child seat structure between the base support surface and the back support surface. A releasable connector is mounted on the rigid link for engagement with a standard anchorage unit associated with the vehicle seat. In the event of sudden deceleration, both the front and rear edges of the base support surface are pressed downwards into the vehicle seat cushion simultaneously. This results in a reduction of the extend of forward excursion of the child's head.

    • In a receive base 3 forming a child seat 1, there is disposed a set angle adjusting mechanism 5 which, in accordance with the angle of a vehicle seat 2, extends a primary rotary plate or the primary rotary plate and a secondary rotary plate simultaneously in a rotating manner to thereby interpose the same between the receive base 3 and vehicle seat 2. According to the present structure, the angle of the receive base 3 can be freely set regardless of the angle of the vehicle seat 2. Also, the set angle adjusting mechanism 5 may be interposed between the receive base 3 and the seat main body of the child seat in such a manner that it in able to adjust the angle of the seat main body. An angle display device is disposed in either of the receive base or seat main body, so that the above-mentioned angle can be confirmed while setting the same. This can enhance the convenience and safety of the child seat to a great extent.

    • A child seat, in particular for a motor vehicle, has a seat-surface structure, which extends generally in a longitudinal direction and defines the seat surface, and a backrest. In another operating mode, the belt-retaining device loosely surrounds the seatbelt.

    • A child-restraint seat includes a seat shell, a child-restraint harness coupled to the seat shell, and a harness-control panel including a belt-receiving opening receiving a shoulder belt portion of the child-restraint harness.
