    • A system for recording information related to the camera exposure parameters of film image frames in a detachable memory module attached to a film cartridge (30) loaded in the camera in non-volatile memory for subsequent read-out. The memory module is constructed of a disc-shaped module housing (46) having an upper and a lower surface and a diameter generally corresponding to the diameter of an end of a film cartridge to which it is releasably attached. A printed circuit (46') is formed as a set of concentric, circular conductive bands (42₁-42₄) spaced apart and electrically isolated from one another on the upper surface (44) of the disc-shaped module housing. An integrated circuit chip (60), including a non-volatile memory, attached to the lower surface of the disc-shaped module housing has a plurality of input and output terminals connected to the plurality of concentric conductive bands. The memory module is releasably adhered to the film cartridge end so that the printed circuit conductive bands can make electrical contact with data recording and reading terminals of camera and film processing equipment. A camera housing for receiving the film cartridge with the attached memory module (40) in a cartridge receiving chamber has a plurality of contact terminals positioned to extend into the cartridge receiving chamber and bear against and make electrical contact with the respective plurality of concentric conductive bands. The camera electronic operating system provides the battery power and electrical signals to be stored in the non-volatile memory through contact of the plurality of contact terminals with the respective concentric conductive bands.

    • Developed photographic film has frames of a 35 mm full size and of a panoramic size recorded thereon. A panoramic frame is detected in a photographic printer. A masking is set on the panoramic frame as detected so as to mask the frame. Photometry and pick-up of the panoramic frame is performed while the panoramic frame stands masked by the masking. Photometry of the panoramic frame as masked is performed. On the basis of the photometric value, exposure information is calculated. A finished image is simulated and displayed on a monitor CRT as picked up, in simulation according to the exposure information. The panoramic frame is inspected through the simulated finished image. The masking is retracted from the panoramic frame. The monitor CRT displays a simulated finished image while the masking stands retracted. For a frame of a wide-vision size and a frame designated for pseudo-zooming printing, similar operation is performed for simulation.

    • A camera module apparatus (1) adapted for use in a camera main body (2) includes a circuit for generating write data, and the camera main body (2) need not have the function of generating write data and the communication function of transferring write data to the camera module apparatus (1). The data is generated in the camera module apparatus (1) by merely outputting a pulse signal X1 for a write command. Therefore, the camera main body can be produced economically. The camera module apparatus (1) has a self-check function, which is activated by a signal RD1 from the camera main body (2) when a film is loaded. In this self-check mode, a control circuit (161) reads the data written and checks whether the write operation is normal on the basis of the output from a comparator circuit (162). Therefore, appropriate write operation is always guaranteed.

    • A common problem with data recording cameras which photographically record the exposure data, e.g., shutter speed or aperture setting, directly on the film negative is that the data is unavailable prior to development of the film. The problem is solved by providing a large scale integrated circuit memory (50) within the back (14) of the camera for storing the exposure data frame-by-frame contemporaneously with the exposure of the film within the camera. Subsequently, the stored data can be read out through an output interface (52) by a printer (54) which prints the data on a paper tape.
