    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical level controller capable of optionally varying respective beam intensity levels of a plurality of light beams which have the same or substantially the same optical axis and differ in wavelength, and to provide its control method, and a laser application device using the same. SOLUTION: The optical level controller 1 controls independently controls intensities of two beams which are emitted by a laser oscillator 2 and differ in wavelength. The optical level controller 1 is equipped with a wavelength plate 3 having wavelength dependence and a polarization beam splitter 4. The wavelength plate 3 having the wavelength dependence functions as a 1/2-wavelength plate for one light wave and a total wavelength plate for the other light wave. Only the angle of rotation of the polarization beam splitter 4 on the optical axis is adjusted to determine the intensity of the other light wave rectilinearly transmitted through the polarization beam splitter 4. Then the polarization beam splitter 4 is fixed at the adjusted angle and the angle of rotation of the wavelength plate 3 on the optical axis is adjusted to determine the intensity of the one light wave.
