    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a system for distinguishing a leak condition from a disengaged condition in a reduced pressure treatment system.SOLUTION: A reduced pressure treatment system 110 includes a processing unit 152, a reduced pressure source 134, and a conduit 112 fluidly connected between the reduced pressure source 134 and a tissue site 114 of a patient. The reduced pressure source 134 is configured to operate at a target power level to apply a reduced pressure to the tissue site. A canister 142 is provided to collect fluid drawn from the tissue site 114. A sensor 138 is provided in communication with the reduced pressure source 134 to determine a source pressure at the reduced pressure source 134, and an alarm indicator 156 is provided in communication with the processing unit 152. The processing unit 152 communicates a leak alarm signal or a canister disengaged alarm signal to the alarm indicator 156 when an actual power level of the reduced pressure source 134 exceeds the target power level for a selected period of time.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a patient cooling system for supporting a patient who needs to be cooled down to a temperature below a normal body temperature.
      SOLUTION: A patient cooling system includes: a patient-support mattress 42 comprising a first set of compartments (cells) and a second set of compartments (cells); an air tent 2 for enclosing the patient; a blower 48 connected to the first and second sets of compartments; and a servovalve 44 which is connected to the first and second sets of compartments and makes the air from the blower 48 flow into the first and second sets of compartments as well as the air from an exhaust duct 6 of the air tent 2 for enclosing the patient flow into the first and second sets of compartments.
