    • PURPOSE: To efficiently remove the contaminant of a UV lamp by suspending a solid material to be brought into contact with the lamp to clean the lamp surface in the water to be treated in a treating tank and keeping the water level on a UV lamp setting level by operating a pump at all times. CONSTITUTION: When the surface of a UV lamp 4 is contaminated after a specified time, an inflow control valve 3 and a discharge valve 6 are closed, and the power source of the lamp 4 is turned off. A water discharge valve 8 is then opened to clean the upper surface of the lamp 4, a return pump 9 is operated to lower the water surface where a solid material 11 is suspended, and the level is controlled by a level gage 10. The inflow control valve 3 is then opened to introduce the water 2 to be treated, and the inflow is equalized with the return by a water discharge valve 8. The water surface is waved by the introduced water 2, hence the the lamp 4 surface is scrubbed by the solid material 11, and the contaminant is cleaned off. Consequently, the sterilizing effect is remarkably enhanced, and the water is continuously and surely sterilized.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the adsorbent heating and cooling time and to regenerate an adsorbent in a short time in the dry air feeder provided with two adsorption towers by furnishing a second heater for further heating the dry air heated by a first heater. SOLUTION: The raw air from a blower 2 is cooled and dehumidified by an aftercooler 3 and a freeze drier 4 to obtain dry air, and the dry air is supplied into an adsorption tower 5A and further dehumidified by an adsorbent 6A. A part of the dry air is passed through a four-way valve 8 and supplied to an ozonizer 9 through a dry air control valve 14A, and the remainder is supplied to an adsorption tower 5B as the regenerating dry air. The regenerating dry air is heated by heaters 12A and 12B and introduced into the adsorption tower 5B to regenerate an adsorbent 6B. When the adsorption tower 5B is cooled after being heated, the heaters 12A and 12B are turned off, and the regenerating dry air is supplied to the adsorption tower 5B and then discharged into the atmosphere.

The negative pressure of the ozone contact reservoir is controlled in constant by sending the signal to the operation device of the motor-driven valve or the vent fans 4, 16 thereby operating the motor-driven valve or the vent fans 14, 16.

SOLUTION: A system through which exhaust gas flows is controlled to decompose unreacted waste ozone in the exhaust gas passed through a mist separator 3 in a waste ozone decomposition column 7 packed with activated carbon at the initial stage of operation rising and, thereafter, the exhaust gas is heated by a heater 4 to raise the temp. of a catalyst to predetermined temp. When the temp. of the catalyst is raised, the system through which the exhaust gas flows is changed over to directly guide the exhaust gas to the heater 4 from the mist separator 3 and the waste ozone decomposition tower 7 packed with activated carbon is cut off from the system and it becomes unnecessary to stop the whole of the waste ozone decomposition apparatus 1A at a time of the displacement of activated carbon. Therefore, the repairing of machinery and the replacement of an ozone adsorbent become possible and an inexpensive and rational waste ozone decomposition apparatus high in reliability can be obtained.
