    • A portable wireless apparatus has an antenna capable of resonating in frequency bands of various communication systems. The portable wireless apparatus comprises an upper case 5; a lower case 4 pivotably connected to the upper case 5; a circuit board 1 formed with wireless circuits 14 to 18 and a grounded planar conductor electrically connected to one ends of the wireless circuits 14 to 18; a planar conductor 2 provided in the upper case 5 and having a feed section electrically connected to the other ends of the wireless circuits 14 to 18; and a conductive element 3 provided in the upper case 5 and spaced from the planar conductor 2, the conductive element 3 having a length different from the length of the planar conductor 2 wherein the planar conductor 2 and the grounded planar conductor function as a dipole antenna, and the conductive element 3 functions as a parasitic element electromagnetically coupled with the dipole antenna.

    • A portable wireless device in which, in various states where the user uses the portable wireless device, the correlation coefficient between antennas can be reduced, and high-speed and high-capacity communication can be ensured is provided.In a portable wireless device 10, from the upper end of a case on the side opposed to a side of a display portion 37 of a case 11, a first antenna element 12 which is slightly shorter by 0.05 wavelengths than the half wavelength is placed, and a second antenna element 13 in which the element length is slightly shorter by 0.05 wavelengths than the half wavelength is placed at a predetermined gap in the width direction in parallel to the first antenna element 12. The first antenna element 12 is connected to a first shared transmitting/receiving unit 23, and the second antenna element 13 is connected to a second shared transmitting/receiving unit 24. The first antenna element 12 and a first wireless circuit portion 38 connected to the element are set as a first communication system. The second antenna element 13 and a second wireless circuit portion 39 connected to the element are set as a second communication system. The communication systems operate as wireless communication systems having low spatial correlation, respectively.

    • There is provided a flip portable radio that can be reduced in thickness and size; that requires a broadband characteristic for an antenna; and that can exhibit high communication performance according to various states of usage.A flip portable radio has a matching circuit that feeds power to a metal rotary shaft 14 which makes an upper enclosure 12 and a lower enclosure 11turnable and which matches impedance to 50 ohms at two operation frequencies or more. A diameter L1 of a cross section of a metal rotary shaft 14 is set to about 1/20 or more of a wavelength λ2. An effective length of a metal rotary shaft 14 is set to about λc/4 of a wavelength λc of a center frequency of a high frequency band. The metal rotary shaft 14 is placed at a given interval away from a first circuit board 11A and a second circuit board 12A.

    • There is provided a foldable portable radio that can exhibit high phone call performance despite its low profile and small size.An antenna element 14 to be placed in the vicinity of a first hinge element 13A is connected to a power feed unit. The first hinge element 13A has a hinge fixing unit 131 and a hinge rotating unit 132. The hinge fixing unit 131 is connected to a second radio circuit 17B of a lower circuit board 12A by way of a second matching circuit 16B. The hinge rotating unit 132 is placed while spaced apart from a ground pattern on an upper circuit board 11A by a predetermined interval and connected to an end of the ground pattern of the upper circuit board that is close to the first hinge element 13A. The antenna element 14 and the first hinge element 13A configure a first dipole antenna. The ground pattern of the upper circuit board 11A and a ground pattern of the lower circuit board 12A configure a second dipole antenna that takes the hinge element 13A as a power feed system. The first hinge element 13A acts as a ground in the first dipole antenna and also as a power feed system in the second dipole antenna.
