摘要： An image processing unit is provided which can solve a problem of a conventional image processing unit in that the control for coding image data is complicated and its circuit scale is large. The image pickup apparatus picks up an image of a subject and converts it to electric signals, thereby outputting image signals. An A/D converter A/D converts the image signals, and outputs them as image data. A fixed length coding circuit breaks down the image data into small unit blocks consisting of a predetermined number of pixels, and carries out fixed length coding after obtaining the average level of the pixel data in each unit block. An exposure controller calculates a luminance level of a whole set of pixel data in the unit blocks, and controls the exposure of the image pickup apparatus so that image data becomes a predetermined luminance level.

The canvas layer is a plain weave canvas made up of cotton fiber and synthetic fiber which are present in a proportion such that there is at least as much synthetic fiber as there is cotton fiber in the canvas layer. The canvas layer has warp and weft yarns, each with center lines which cross to be biased with respect to the length of the body. The canvas layer is adhered to the body without performing a tentering treatment on the canvas layer.

摘要： In a scanning and printing apparatus such as a copier or facsimile machine, the same driving system moves the scanning unit and transports paper through the printing unit. One edge of the paper is held by a clamping mechanism that is driven together with the scanning unit. In a copier, signals from the scanning unit can be sent directly to the printing unit for simultaneous scanning and printing, which automatically synchronizes the scanning and printing speeds. Alternatively, the signals can be temporarily stored, and scanning and printing can be performed in opposite directions of motion. For color scanning and printing, the scanning unit has filters that spectrally match the links in the printing unit. The apparatus is compact and economical because it has only a single driving mechanism and requires minimal signal interfacing.

Preferably, each note removal device has a suction head and note removal rollers, and the note lifting device is a note kick-up roller, a stop member for dressing the leading edges of the notes, and a cam for regulating the position of the stop member in accordance with the width of the notes of the pertinent denomination.
