    • The invention refers to a method of providing a certain communication service with respect to a user equipment –UE- (10) in a cellular communications network, the communications network comprising a radio access network – RAN-node (12) and a plurality of cells, wherein at least a first cell of the plurality of cells is capable of supporting the certain service, and at least a second of the plurality of cells is not capable of supporting the certain service, and a core network –CN-node (14) involved in a bearer activation process with respect to the UE (10), the radio access network node (12) performing receiving an information indicative of that the UE (10) requests the certain service, while the UE (10) is camping on the second cell, and initiating a movement to the first cell. The invention further refers to a radio access node (14), a computer program loadable into the radio access node.

    • A method is described of securing data communications between a first node (10) attached to a first network (40-1 ) and a second node (20/30) attached to a second network (40-2). The method comprises at the second node (20/30): receiving (S1 ) first information (I1 ) on whether the first network (40-1 ) has a secure network layer path to the first node (10) or is known to use a secure network layer path to attached nodes; receiving (S2) second information (I2) on whether the second node (20/30) has a secure network layer path to the second network (40-2) or is known to use a secure network layer path to the second network (40-2); and receiving (S3) third information (I3) on whether the first network (40-1 ) has a secure internal network layer path and, where the first and second networks (40-1, 40-2) are different, on whether the first network (40-1 ) has a secure network layer path to the second network (40-2) or is known to use a secure network layer path to the second network (40-2). It is determined (S5) from the first, second and third information (I1, I2, I3) whether the entire path between the first node (10) and the second node (20/30) is secured at the network layer level, and based on that determination it is decided whether to establish (S6t, S7r) application layer security for data communications between the first node (10) and the second node (20/30), or whether to proceed without application layer security (S8t, S8r).

    • Nodes and methods of operation thereof for use with a UE capable of utilising power saving mode.     • A multi-mode wireless communication device is configured to access a core network of a wireless communication system via any one of multiple different access networks (ANs). Not all of these ANs may support emergency calls. To help the device select which AN it should use to initiate an emergency call, one or more servers in the core network send emergency support information to the device indicating which ANs support emergency calls. The server(s) advantageously send this information to the device prior to the device initiating an emergency call. Thus, upon receiving a command to initiate an emergency call, the device intelligently selects the AN over which to initiate the call based on which ANs actually support that emergency call. This eliminates or at least minimizes the possibility that the emergency call will be redirected to a different AN, thereby reducing the delay required to successfully place the emergency call.
