    • PURPOSE: To easily determine relative positions of a pair of rails to be connected by screw-fitting a pair of nipping members, forming opposing faces of nipping members opposite to each other via top parts of the pair of rails to be connected to each other into straight edges parallel to each other, and press- contacting the opposing faces to top part side faces of the pair of rails to be connected. CONSTITUTION: A horizontal part 2 of a first nipping member 1 is placed between top parts R'a, R'b of a pair of rails Ra, Rb to be connected to each other. Next, opposing faces 5, 6 of the first and second nipping members 1, 4 are position-adjusted to be in contact with side faces of the rail top parts R'a, R'b, a tip of a first fastening bolt 9 is screwed and fastened into a screw hole 10, a second fastening bolt 14 and a fastening screw 17 are fastened so that the first to fourth nipping members 1, 4, 11, 12 may nip the rail top parts R'a, R'b, so as to fasten a fixing screw 19 in order to surely maintain a nipping state. Further, washers 24 are fixed by fixing rods 23 so as to fix the rails Ra, Rb to be connected, to a sleeper 25. Then, a positioning tool A is removed from the rails Ra, Rb and welding work is applied to the rails Ra, Rb.

    • PURPOSE: To bring a grinding blade into contact freely with the top face, arcuate surface and side faces of a rail head section and grind a welding residual section, to load the load of a driving motor for grinding to a cutter body and to conduct grinding work more surely by vertically moving a first support disk or laterally moving a second support disk while forwarding or retreating a machine base as required. CONSTITUTION: A device substrate 24 is disposed in upright on the front end side of a machine base 1 capable of being forwarded or retreated along a rail R. A first support disk 25 vertically moved by operating a first driving motor 27 is installed to the device substrate 24, and a second support disk laterally moved by working a second driving motor 30 is assembled to the first support disk. A driving motor 35 for grinding and a cutter body 37 linked with the driving motor 35 are mounted on the front of the second support disk in a horizontal-shaft rotatable manner. An engaging section, with which the head section R' of the rail R is engaged, is fitted to the cutter body 37. Grinding blades grinding each of the top face, arcuate surface and side faces of the rail head section R' are set up to the engaging section.
