    • A remote control apparatus has a plurality of manipulating buttons fitted in a plurality of windows, respectively, formed in a casing member, each of the manipulating buttons being formed of a transparent material and having a lower portion provided with a switch actuating projection and an upper portion disposed within each of the windows for allowing user to operate the button with his or her finger. A switch array includes a plurality of switches corresponding to the plural manipulating buttons and is mounted within the casing member such that each of the switches can be changed over between ON and OFF states by contact with a switch actuating projection in the operation of the corresponding manipulating button. A mode change-over switch is selectively movable to a plurality of positions for setting one of a plurality of predetermined modes in which the switch array is to be operated, and a display plate for displaying marks indicating functions of the individual manipulating buttons in the mode set by the mode change-over switch is movable with the mode change-over switch and is located between the button array and the switch array so that the marks can be visually recognized through the individual manipulating buttons, and so that the marks displayed correspond to the mode set by the mode change-over switch. The display plate includes slots through which the switch actuating projections extend.

    • A network topology discovery method automatically recognizes the physical connection relationships of each ATM switch and each ATM terminal within an ATM network. Each ATM switch and ATM terminal mutually exchanges, by ILMI protocol, port identifiers that identify every ATM port of the ATM switch or ATM terminal as well as network addresses of network management agents that manage the ATM switch and the ATM terminal, to neighboring ATM switches and ATM terminals that are directly connected to its ports. Each ATM switch and ATM terminal stores tables for each of its ATM ports that include port identifiers which indicate the identities of connected ports as wall as the network addresses of the network management agents that manage the neighboring ATM switches and ATM terminals. The ATM switches or ATM terminals automatically recognize the local connection relationships with its neighboring ATM switches or ATM terminals, using a network management system, by accessing connection information and then automatically recognizing the physical connection relationships of each ATM switch and each ATM terminal. The network management system recognizes the configuration within an ATM network, whether the network management system is inside or outside the ATM network, including when a router or existing LAN coexists with the ATM network. The identities of ports connected to each port are recognized, when a plurality of links exist between ATM switches, without requiring the assignment of a respective one of its ATM network management agents to each ATM switch. Interfaces between ATM switches as well as between an ATM switch and an ATM terminal are also automatically identified.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an advertisement display of taxis which can be light in the nighttime regardless of empty or not. SOLUTION: The advertisement display 1 for a taxi consists of a front advertisement surface 2a and side rear advertisement surfaces 2b and 2c facing the side or rear of the front advertisement surface 2a. Light emitting means for the front advertisement surface 2a and the side rear advertisement surfaces 2b and 2c are separately controlled. The front light emitting means is subjected to on-off control cooperatively with a taximeter. The advertisement display is formed to an approximately trapezoidal shape directing the front advertisement surface 2a which is forwardly broad when viewed from the top surface to the front. The light emitting state of the side rear advertisement surfaces 2b and 2c is not recognized from the front (within an angle θ) of the taxi 8 and the misunderstanding as the empty is averted.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To simplify a mechanism make operation easy, make shape compact and beautiful and prevent the drop of a paper roll by preventing the drop of the paper roll using a paper cutter that includes suspended drop preventing plates on both sides of a paper cutting plate. SOLUTION: In a toilet paper holder body 1, an arbor for rotatably supporting paper roll 15 is formed like a cantilever and the paper roll 15 can be attached or detached from a free end side of this arbor. A paper cutter 8 that includes suspended drop preventing plates 10 on both sides of a paper cutting plate 9 prevents drop of the paper roll 15. For preventing the drop of the paper roll 15, the drop preventing plate 10 is required only on one side of the paper cutting plate 9, namely the free end side of the arbor. However, by providing the drop preventing plates 10 on both sides of the paper cutting plate 9, the paper cutter 8 characterizing the appearance of the toilet paper holder 1 has a beautiful shape symmetrically right and left.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To miniaturize a heater device by arranging a heat exchanger consisting of an expand metal, etc., in a housing in the up and down direction so as to make a heating water flow down along the face and providing an outlet for the heating water on the top part of the heat exchange medium and providing an air inlet and a hot air outlet. SOLUTION: An air inlet opening 16 for taking air fed to a sauna room 1 is provided on the wall of a taking-in space 12b of the top part of the upper part separation wall 15 of the housing 8 of a section 12a and a hot air outlet 17 for sending out a heated and moistened hot air is provided on the wall of the section 12a below the upper separation wall 15. The heat exchange medium consists of cylindrical expand metals 21, 22 and 23 and they are arranged by standing them in the cylinders 13 and 14 of the housing 8 and between the cylinders 13 and 14 in the up and down direction. In addition, the hot water fed from an outlet 19 of the heated water of the hot water feeding pipe 18 on the upper part of the heat exchange medium is made to flow along the plate face.

    • PURPOSE:To stir mortar, etc., in good performance within a bucket body, scooping it out without leaving any residue, and allow easy washing operations by forming spherically the inner bottom surface of the bucket body, and eliminating any angle likely generated between the inner bottom surface and the side face. CONSTITUTION:A bucket body 1 is formed in a certain shape, for example as widening from the bottom surface 3 toward the opening 4 in the over-part, and a grip 2 is fixed rotatably to the peripheral edge of the opening 4. The bucket body 1 is molded in a single piece from a synthetic resin, or formed by welding from a metal material, and the bottom surface 3 is shaped spherically, wherein the spherical contour may be embodied only on the inside of the bottom, whose outside can be configured at designer's disposition. The spherical shape of the bottom 3 worsens seating of the bucket body 1, and therefore, a seat 5 is fixed to the periphery of the bottom surface 3 for stabilization of seating. According to this arrangement, no angle is generated between the bottom 3 and the side face, which enables agitating mortar, etc., in the bucket body 1 in good performance, scooping the mortar out, and washing the inside of the bucket.
