摘要： Described is a process for preparing polyaniline polymer which includes contacting aniline monomers with (a) hydrogen peroxide, (b) at least one acid, including hydrogen chloride, hydrogen bromide, or a mixture thereof, and (c) a catalytic amount of at least one metal-containing compound or complex, under reaction conditions sufficient to form a polymerization reaction product containing a polyaniline polymer. It has been discovered that the processes described herein provide means to prepare polyaniline having a relatively high conductivity at a high degree of aniline monomer conversion using hydrogen peroxide as an oxidant.

摘要： A device useful for oral drug delivery device consisting of: (a) a capsule, tablet or pill designed to disperse in the gastrointestinal system; (b) an RFID tag positioned in the capsule, tablet or pill, the RFID tag comprising an antenna; (c) an object selected from the group consisting of a magnet, a ferromagnetic object, a ferrite object and an electromagnetic shielding object positioned within, over or adjacent the antenna of the RFID tag to alter the antenna characteristics of the RFID tag so that if the RFID tag is interrogated before the capsule, tablet or pill disperses in the gastrointestinal system, the response of the RFID tag is sufficiently altered or attenuated to determine that the capsule, tablet or pill has not dispersed in the gastrointestinal system and so that if the RFID tag is interrogated after the capsule, tablet or pill has dispersed in the gastrointestinal system, the object separates from the RFID tag so that the response of the RFID tag is sufficiently detectable to determine that the capsule, tablet or pill has dispersed in the gastrointestinal system. Alternatively, a switch can be used to signal ingestion of the device, and change the response of the device.

The process comprises reacting under polymerization conditions and in the presence of a reaction medium, a conductive polymer precursor, a strong acid, and a chlorate salt or chloric acid and an iron salt. It has surprisingly been discovered that this combination of oxidants promotes higher yields of the conductive polymer than either the chlorate salt or chloric acid or the iron salt.

摘要： A process for preparing an electronically-conductive thermoplastic composition having at least two phases, which includes (A) combining an amorphous or semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymer or miscible blend of polymers with an electronically-conductive carbon under conditions sufficient to disperse the conductive carbon, thereby forming a mixture having at least one phase, with at least 60 percent of the carbon dispersed in a first phase which comprises at least 90 percent by weight of the mixture; and (B) combining the mixture obtained from step (A) with an amorphous or semi-crystalline thermoplastic polymer or miscible blend of polymers, at least a portion of which is immiscible in the first phase, thereby forming a composition having at least two phases. Compositions prepared by this process are sufficiently conductive to be useful for a variety of applications, such as structural materials for applications requiring electromotively-paintable substrates.
