摘要： A gate-type shift lever device in which a pin is formed at a mounting piece formed at a back wall portion of a base, which pin axially supports a plate switch. Two levers are formed at the plate switch. A shift lever abuts and presses one of the levers during a shift operation from a “D” position to a “4” position. The shift lever abuts and presses another of the levers, during a shift operation from a “2” position to an “L” position. In accordance with rotation of the plate switch due to the pressing forces received by the levers, a holder contact moves transversely. Thus, the shift operations from the “D” position to the “4” position and from the “2” position to the “L” position can be detected.

摘要： A method of an automatic adjustment of a carrier level is used for a system having a center device, a communication line extending from the center device, and at least one communication-terminal device connected to the communication line. The system conducts two-way communication of data signals on the communication line based on a predetermined multiplexing scheme. The method includes the steps of periodically transmitting a carrier-level-measurement message from the center device to the communication line for each high-frequency channel used for the two-way communication, the carrier-level-measurement message being sent via a first channel different from channels used for communication and control, transmitting a reply message in response to the carrier-level-measurement message from a communication-terminal device to the center device via a second channel different from the channels used for communication and control, transmitting a carrier-level-adjustment message from the center device to the communication line via the first channel, the carrier-level-adjustment message containing level-adjustment information based on a carrier level of the reply message received by the center device, and adjusting a carrier level of the communication-terminal device based on the level-adjustment information of the carrier-level-adjustment message received by the communication-terminal device.

摘要： A variable-damping-force shock absorber includes a piezoelectric actuator for producing a displacement, a hydraulic pressure chamber filled with a working oil and having a volume variable in response to the displacement produced by said piezoelectric actuator, and a plunger slidably disposed in a sleeve and reciprocally movable in response to a change in the volume of said hydraulic pressure chamber. The sleeve and said plunger define therebetween a gap communicating with said hydraulic pressure chamber. A supply passage for supplying a working oil from an external working oil source into said hydraulic pressure chamber extends through the gap. A leakage of the working oil from the hydraulic pressure chamber through the gap can automatically be compensated for by working oil supplied through the supply passage. Since the working oil leaks from and is supplied into the hydraulic pressure chamber through the gap, the leakage and supply of the working oil are kept in equilibrium.

摘要： According to a control system for a continuously variable transmission, a spool of a shift command valve is held within an overstroke range next adjacent to a normal stroke range in order to disconnect a lock-up control valve from an electromagnetically operated valve. The spool of the shift command valve is held within the overstroke range until a vehicle speed exceeds a predetermined vehicle speed value after a driver's demand for moving a motor vehicle from a standstill. Thus, the vehicle can start moving even if the electromagnetically operated valve fails to operate normally since the lock-up control valve is kept at a lock-up release position when the spool of the shift command valve is in the overstroke range.
