    • A moveable guard assembly is configured for installation upon an ATV having a horizontal carrier rack. The movable guard assembly comprises a blocking member and a first securement mechanism. The blocking member is configured for attachment to a front end of the all terrain vehicle in a position adjacent to the horizontal carrier rack. The blocking member is adjustable through movement between a first position in which the blocking member is operable to perform a guard function for protecting at least a portion of the front end of the all terrain vehicle, and a second position in which the blocking member is operable to provide additional support for cargo placed upon the horizontal carrier rack. The first securement mechanism is configured to selectively retain the blocking member in at least one of the first position and the second position. An ATV including the moveable guard assembly is also provided.

    • An improved snowthrower (2) comprises a housing (4) having a rotatable impeller (6) therein. Impeller (6) is rotationally molded from plastic and is easily replaceable in housing (4). Moreover, impeller (6) includes a plurality of snow impelling blades (60) which are sufficiently rigid to transmit a drive torque from one side wall (63) to the other side wall (62) of impeller (6). Thus, impeller (6) does not require the use of a through shaft. In addition, snowthrower (2) includes a switch (93) for actuating the drive motor (8). Switch bar (96) is movable to cause switch (93) to close. However, lockout member (110) can be positioned in engagement with switch bar (96) to prevent inadvertent or accidental actuation of switch (93). Lockout member (100) is moved to a non-locking position only when a key member (116) is inserted into a control grip (112).

    • An all terrain vehicle includes a frame and a control assembly that can be directly or indirectly attached to the frame. The control assembly includes a control knob which can be readily accessible to an operator during operation of the all terrain vehicle. The control knob has a rotational axis that can be substantially parallel to the rotational axis of a driven wheel of the all terrain vehicle. The control assembly can be connected with a cable to a transmission of the all terrain vehicle such that the control knob can be rotatable to disable a reverse inhibitor system of the transmission. The control assembly can further include a shaft having a first stop and a base having a second stop, such that the first and second stops can be configured to selectively contact each other during rotation of the control knob.

    • A protective cover is provided for vehicle remote control device comprising a housing and a plurality of buttons on the surface of the housing which can be pressed for activating predetermined vehicle functions. The protective cover comprises an inner plastic sheath for fittingly surrounding the housing, the inner plastic sheath being comprised a relatively soft and pliable plastic material and having an opening therein through which the remote control device can be inserted. Further, an outer sheath substantially surrounds the inner plastic sheath. The outer sheath is comprised of a material selected for its ability to protect the remote control device. The outer sheath has an opening therein which substantially corresponds to the opening in the inner plastic sheath, and has at least one window therein, the window being located on the outer sheath so that the buttons can be seen through the window when the remote control device is inserted in the protective cover.
