摘要： To provide a player or recorder/player which records content on a recording medium by a recording method compliant with the DVD-VR format, or electronic apparatus equipped therewith, where the recorder/player or the like is capable of setting parental locks on individual titles in the content. Title-by-title parental lockout works as follows. When there is a playback request or the like for a title in content recorded in the DVD-VR format, it is checked whether a password has been set in an IT_TXT field existing in a TXTDT_MG table and corresponding to the requested title (Step 401 to 405). If a password has been set, the user is prompted to enter a password (Steps 407 to 411). If the entered password is incorrect, the user is not permitted to handle the title (Step 412).

摘要： A capacitor charged beforehand is discharged according to a light surrounding a display unit. A data is decreased similarly to the voltage between the electrodes of the capacitor. A trigger signal is outputted if the data becomes equal to or less than a threshold value. A clock signal whose cycle of changing levels gradually becomes long is generated. A count value is updated at each change of the clock signal's level and the updated count value is outputted. The count value is sampled when the trigger signal is outputted.

摘要： A liquid crystal panel brightness controller notifies a backlight controller that an illuminance of ambient light is equal to or less than a threshold value. Upon notification, the backlight controller causes invisible light emitted, for example. The invisible light passes through a liquid crystal panel and is reflected by an imaging target and is received by photosensors. Accordingly, the decrease in the amount of the visible light received by photosensors is compensated. As a result, an image with a high S/N ratio is obtained.

摘要： In a display device, an object approaching a display unit is detected by referring to an image picked up by the display unit. An alternating current drive circuit drives an alternating current signal to the display unit, so that a detection circuit detects an amplitude change or a phase shift. Alternatively, a liquid crystal panel is vibrated at a predetermined frequency, so that the strength of the frequency of the vibration sound is detected. This makes it possible to more accurately detect the timing when the object touches the display unit.

Then, the difference between the output of the unshielded photosensors and the output of the shielded photosensors is obtained. 摘要： The invention provides a recording/reproducing device which records management data unifying front and back sides. A management data input/output processing section reads data from a front side of an inserted recording medium, a management data creation section creates management data on the front side and temporarily stores it in a memory section. After prompting the user to turn over the recording medium, the device checks the turnover of the disk, and reads data on the back side and creates management data. The management data creation section creates unified management data which unifies the management data on the double-side and the unified management data is wrote onto the back side of the recording medium. When writing is completed, the device prompts the user to turn over the recording medium and records, upon recognizing that it is the front side, the unified management data onto the front side.
