摘要： A process for producing phases enriched with 1,1-GPM (1-O-.alpha.-D-Glucopyranosyl-D-mannite) and/or 1,6-GPS (6-O-.alpha.-D- Glucopyranosyl-D-sorbite), from hydrogenated isomaltulose or mixtures containing hydrogenated isomaltulose. The latter is dissolved in water at an elevated temperature, the resulting solution is crystallized by cooling the solution over a predetermined temperature range sufficient to obtain the desired phase composition, and the phase enriched with 1,1-GPM is subsequently separated from the phase enriched with 1,6-GPS.

The known pyrolysis of starch forms a large number of by-products so that time-consuming purification processes using organic solvents and slow crystallisation are usual. Low yields and deficient purity characterise the known levoglucosan products. … A process for the preparation of levoglucosan is provided in which the starting material, which has a water content adjusted to not more than 20 %, is depolymerised, the volatile components are condensed and the condensate is, after neutralisation, filtration and, where appropriate, treatment with an adsorbent, subjected to a chromatographic separation on ion exchangers, with water as eluent, and the levoglucosan-containing fractions are concentrated and crystalline levoglucosan is obtained by an evaporation and/or cooling crystallisation from water.
