    • PURPOSE:To make it possible to insert the titled apparatus in a pipe even if the diameter of the pipe is relatively small and there are a step part and a bent part in the pipe, by providing a fiberscope having an objective lens provided to the leading end part thereof and a rotary pendulum supporting said objective lens in the vicinity of the center of rotation thereof. CONSTITUTION:A sensor head 10 is constituted by providing a fiberscope 23 having an objective lens 21 at the leading end thereof, a rotary pendulum 12 supporting the lens 21 and a sensor head frame 11 receiving said pendulum 12 and running through a pipe by the push-in force of an elastic body 20. The pendulum 12 is fixed to the frame 11 through a bearing 13 so as to freely rotate around the center line of the frame 11 and the lens 21 is allowed to always coincide with a gravitational direction in an up-and-down direction even if the frame 11 is distorted when inserted in the pipe. In order to prevent the excessive distortion of the scope 23 and the impartment of distortional impact due to the excessive twist or abrupt rotation of the pendulum 12 by vibration during running, the pendulum 12 and the frame 11 are connected through a damping apparatus 14 and prevents the hypersensitive shaking of the pendulum 12.

    • PURPOSE:To enable the movement of the titled apparatus even if there is a step part or a bent part such as a joint of a small-caliber piping and to perform accurate flaw detection by closely contacting a probe with the piping at the time of flaw detection, by closely contacting the probe moving through the piping to detect the flaw thereof with the inner wall of the piping by a pressing body. CONSTITUTION:The titled apparatus is constituted of pressing bodies 10, 11 grasping a probe 1 to press the same to the inner wall of piping 30 and a flaw detection frame 20 receiving the same. The pressing bodies 10, 11 are provided to three places over the entire periphery of the frame 20 and a tension spring 12 is compressed by the pressure of the flaw detection medium 3 flowing in a medium pressure feed hose 22 to be closely contacted with the inner surface of the piping 30. By this method, the gap between the probe 1 and the inner wall of the piping can be reduced. Because the frame 20 moves so as to slide in the piping 30 by the pushing-in and pulling-back of an elastic body 21, said frame 20 has a spherical or oval appearance shape so as to be able to smoothly run even if there are a joint, a step part, bent part, etc., in the piping: the pressure of the flaw detection medium 3 is lowered at the time of movement and the pressing body 10 is received in the flaw detection frame 20 by the recovery force of the tension spring 12 to protect the probe 1 from the collision with the obstacle in the piping.
