    • A container assembly (10) having a container (12), a fitment (14) and a cap (16) assembly. The container (12) has at least one panel (20) and at least one seal (22) sealing the at least one panel to define a cavity (26). The fitment is coupled with the container, comprising a body (30) having a first end (32) and a second end (34). The second end (34) extends away from the container (12), wherein the fitment (14) provides fluid communication with the cavity (26). The cap assembly (16) is releasably attachable to the second end (3) of the fitment (14). The cap assembly (16) comprises a base (40) and a cover (60). The base includes an upper surface (41 ), a lower surface (42) and an opening (43) extending therethrough. The opening (43) including an upper annular rim extending from the upper surface of the base (41 )and a lower annular rim' extending from the lower surface of the base. The cover is attachable to the base to cover the opening. The cover includes an annular ring that extends along at least a portion of the upper annular rim (75) of the opening. The annular ring forms a hermetic seal with the upper annular rim of the opening. A frangible cover (82) is integrally molded with the cap extending across the lower annular rim.

    • A flexible bag (104) is positioned in a rigid container (106), such as a fifty-five gallon drum, and the bag is filled through its spout with flowable product, such as tomato paste. The bag is then expanded in the container to be substantially rigid and thereby reduce film movement and resultant flex cracking. One way that the bag can be expanded, pursuant to this invention, is for a lid (132) to be sealed onto the container and a vacuum drawn from between the bag and the container. Gas volume needs to be present in the bag before the vacuum is applied so that the gas in the bag can expand from the vacuum on its outside. Another way to expand the bag is, after filling the bag with the flowable product, to inject pressurized gas into the bag. For this embodiment, the container need not be vacuum sealable. For example, the container may be formed from a metal, plastic, cardboard and the like, and the container walls can be either solid or have openings. The pressurized gas can be applied before the lid is placed on the container or after it is clamp-sealed onto the container. If it is after (for example through a valve (120) in the bag fitment, the valve extending out through the lid), then the container or lid preferably has a relief valve to allow the air in the closed container to escape as the pressurized gas in introduced into the bag. The bag can have volumes slightly smaller or larger than that of the container.
