摘要： A picture display apparatus and a cooling apparatus used for an optical apparatus for efficiently cooling sections to be cooled through the effective use of air currents supplied from a cooling fan, where in external wall and an internal wall of an air guide section guide rotating air currents generated by the cooling fan to intakes without reducing the air velocity by regulating and directing the air currents in accordance with the shape of the cooling fan and the direction of rotation of the fan. The air currents passing through the air guide section are taken through the intakes into an optical unit and sent to the sections to be cooled including a light valve and a polarizing plate for each color. The sections are thus cooled by the air currents.

摘要： In a flexible manufacturing system for assembling various types of vehicle bodies, there is employed a work piece carrier on which a work piece positioning device is mounted. The work piece positioning device has a plurality of position changeable work piece holders which are grouped into a plurality of groups each having its own power input device. When the carrier comes to a type switching state together with the work piece positioning device, a power source installed in the type switching stage is brought into connection with the power input device of one of the groups thereby to change the positions of the corresponding work piece holders. Then, the power source is brought into connection with the other power input device of the other group to change the positions of the corresponding work piece holders.

This method is especially effective in a magnetic disk device based on the perpendicular magnetic recording system because an impedance largely changes in this type of magnetic disk device.

摘要： A method is provided for the polymerization of olefins substituted with a functional group using a transition metal catalyst that, by virtue of one or more stabilizing groups incorporated within the catalyst structure, “fixes” the stereoconfiguration of each olefinic monomer relative to the transition metal complex during each successive reaction in the polymerization process. The invention substantially reduces the likelihood of olefin rearrangement at the active site of the catalyst during polymerization. In one particular embodiment, the functional group is a polar, electron-donating group and the stabilizing group is a Lewis acid substituent; examples of polymers that can be prepared with such a system include poly(vinyl acetate), poly(vinyl alcohol), and poly(vinyl ethers). Novel complexes and catalyst systems useful in the polymerization method are also provided.
