    • The disclosure is directed to an analog-digital converter which includes a source having an output of fixed frequency time-spaced pulses. An oscillator having an output of time-spaced pulses, harmonically related to pulses from the source, is comprised of a plurality of digital gates connected serially in a loop. At least one of the digital gates includes impedance means such as a resister or capacitor, responsive to an analog condition to form a modulator. Change in the value of the impedance changes the time constant of the modulator to effect a change in the time-spaced pulses related to the instantaneous amplitude of the analog condition. The outputs of the source and the oscillator are applied to a comparator. Means responsive to the comparator is employed to correct the oscillator time-spaced pulses toward an in phase state relative to the time-spaced pulses from the source. A digital signal is produced whose value is proportional to the correction made to the oscillator time-spaced pulses and is thus representative of the instantaneous value of the analog condition.

    • The present invention is directed to an apparatus for monitoring or abatement of bedbugs, comprising: a base having a mounting portion and a control portion; a heating source positioned on the mounting portion; two capture channels positioned proximate to the heating source and adjacent to the base and each comprising a sloped portion; a horizontal portion connected to the sloped portion, the horizontal portion having a width ranging from about 8 to about 15 millimeters; and a channel portion connected to the horizontal portion by a curved portion having a radius of curvature ranging from about ⅛th inch to about ½ inch; an insect attractant source positioned on the heating source; a carbon dioxide source attached to the base and capable of emitting carbon dioxide proximate to the heating source, and a control circuit mounted in the control portion and in communication with the heating source and the carbon dioxide source to control operation of the apparatus, wherein the control circuit controls emission of the carbon dioxide and wherein the control circuit controls the heating source to maintain a temperature ranging from 90 to 125° F.

    • An air cleaner assembly for capturing and filtering fumes is provided which comprises a housing having an inlet and an outlet, a pair of filter cartridges supported therein and a blower. A channel and baffle assembly direct the flow of air drawn into the housing in a vortical pattern around the filter cartridges to separate heavier particles in the air and to efficiently draw the air through the filter cartridges. The separated particles collect in a pair of dust trays that are provided with flow directional lips to prevent the vortical air flow from disturbing the deposited particles. A backflushing assembly cleans the filter cartridges of the particles that are collected thereon by pulsing the particles away with a blast of air directed through the entire length of the filter cartridges.

    • A seismic data generation and collection system is described for use in a exploration vessel for determining the subsea structure of the earth. A plurality of acoustic energy sources are towed behind the boat and acoustic waves are emitted therefrom by conventional means. The reflection at the subsea interfaces of the acoustic waves are picked up by the energy detectors which produce analog signals. These analog signals are then converted to digital data; multiple computers are used to reformat the data into a desired format. A real time monitor computer and monitor plotter may also be provided to assist the operator in evaluation of the operation of the system. The desired record format includes header information relating to the parameters under which the seismic shot was made, which may be written directly onto the magnetic tape containing the seismic data.
