摘要： Methods, apparatuses, and computer program products are disclosed for facilitating a radio link failure determination. A wireless terminal is configured to monitor a control channel quality of a control signal over at least one control carrier. A radio link failure determination is then made based on the control channel quality of the at least one control carrier. In other embodiments, rather than basing the radio link failure determination solely on the set of control carriers, the wireless terminal is configured to monitor a control channel quality over at least one additional carrier, not included in the set of control carriers, in response to a link loss detected over each of the set of control carriers. For such embodiments, the radio link failure determination is then made based on the control channel quality of the additional carrier(s).

In a particular aspect, a wireless terminal selects a subset of cells, which include at least one serving cell and at least one non-serving cell. The subset of cells are then evaluated by obtaining a first measurement associated with the at least one serving cell and a second measurement associated with the at least one non-serving cell. A measurement event occurrence, which is based on a comparison between the first measurement and the second measurement, is then monitored. An occurrence of the measurement event triggers a measurement report transmission, which the network then uses to perform handovers. Other disclosed embodiments are directed towards placing a reception band, which include identifying a set of assigned component carriers and placing a reception band within the system bandwidth so that the placement overlaps with at least a portion of the assigned component carriers.

摘要： Systems and methodologies are described that handle security activation during handover in a wireless network. A new access stratum (AS) key can be provided to a serving access point (and a related wireless device) before and/or while preparing a target access point during an inter-cell handover. The serving access point can receive the new AS key and provide it to the target access point as part of handover preparation. The serving access point can then initiate inter-cell handover of the related wireless device indicating that the wireless device can utilize a new AS key before the serving access point has an opportunity to activate the new AS key with the wireless device. The wireless device can subsequently perform a random access procedure to the target access point and/or establish a connection therewith by transmitting other messages using the new AS key.

摘要： Techniques for originating a voice call by a UE after performing reselection with reprioritization are described. The UE may operate in an idle mode and may camp on a first wireless network of a first radio access technology (RAT), which may not support voice service. The first wireless network may have the highest priority among all wireless networks detected by the UE. The UE may receive an indication to originate a voice call. The UE may then perform reselection from the first wireless network to a second wireless network of a second RAT by modifying the priorities of the frequencies of the first wireless network and/or the second wireless network. The UE may then originate the voice call with the second wireless network, instead of the first wireless network, in order to avoid having to perform circuit-switched (CS) fallback from the first wireless network to the second wireless network.

In one design, a user equipment (UE) sends first Layer (2) packets to a source base station prior to handover to a target base station. The UE sends at least one second Layer (2) packet to the target base station, which identifies the second Layer (2) packet(s) as being intended for the source base station and thus forwards the second Layer (2) packet(s) to the source base station via a Layer (2) tunnel. The UE sends third Layer (2) packets to the target base station after the handover. The target base station processes the third Layer (2) packets to obtain IP packets and sends the IP packets to a serving gateway after a trigger condition, which may be defined to achieve in-order delivery of IP packets from the source and target base stations to the serving gateway.

A positioning server can determine a network area identifier of one or more messages based at least in part on an identifier of a base station associated with the one or more messages. Based at least in part on the network area identifier, the positioning server can provide the one or more messages to an intermediate network node corresponding to the one or more base stations, such as a mobility management entity (MME). In addition, a base station can update positioning information with the positioning server.
