    • An interactive device having time synchronization capability is provided. In one embodiment, the interactive device has a computer processor that stores an internal clock. The computer processor may be preprogrammed to generate announcements based on a particular time of the internal clock. A user may input and adjust the time of the internal clock. In another embodiment, a setup module is provided which includes a computer processor that stores a setup time. The setup module establishes a connection with an interactive device, and time synchronizes the interactive device such that the internal clock of the interactive device is running the same time as the setup module. The setup module is capable of synchronizing the internal clock of multiple interactive devices, despite the interactive devices being programmed on separate occasions. The interactive device may be synchronized by the setup module via a hard-wired connection or wireless means.

    • An animated toy comprising a toy body which itself includes at least one shoulder member and a pair of waist members, the upper ends of which are pivotally connected to the shoulder member. The toy body further includes a pair of leg members having upper ends which are pivotally connected to the lower ends of respective ones of the waist members. The lower ends of the leg members are pivotally connected to a support base. In addition to the toy body, the animated toy comprises a drive unit mounted to the support base and including a reversible motor which is mechanically coupled to at least one of the leg members and operative to reciprocally tilt the leg members in first and second directions. The toy body is configured such that the tilting of the leg members in the first direction causes the waist members to be tilted in the second direction, with the tilting of the leg members in the second direction causing the waist members to be tilted in the first direction.

    • A sensor for use in an interactive electronic device. The sensor comprises a base member having at least one recess formed therein which is partially defined by a peripheral wall thereof. Disposed within the peripheral wall of the base member is at least one switch. Also disposed within the recess is a trigger ball which is freely movable about the peripheral wall of the base member. The sensor is operative to generate at least two different states corresponding to respective positions of the sensor relative to a reference plane. The movement of the sensor relative to the reference plane facilitates the movement of the trigger ball within the recess, with one state being generated when the trigger ball is in contact with the switch and another state being generated when the trigger ball is not in contact with the switch.
