    • The present invention proposes a systematic and efficient method for fitting a hearing device to the needs and preferences of a user of the hearing device. In a first step of the proposed method a first range [pi,min, pi, max] for a parameter setting of a first parameter pi is determined based on a first audiological test performed with the user. In a second step of the proposed method a second parameter p2 is adjusted to a second final parameter setting p2, final and/or the first parameter pi is adjusted to a first final parameter setting pi, final based on a second audiological test performed with the user. In the second step it is ensured that the first parameter setting pi remains within the first range [pi,min, pi, max], e.g. that the first final parameter setting pi, final is maintained within the first range [pi,min, pi,max]. Additionally, an apparatus capable of performing the proposed method and a use of the method for fitting hearing devices featuring a frequency transposition means are given.

    • The present invention provides a method for adjusting a hearing device comprising frequency transposition means to hearing preferences of a user of said hearing device, wherein the frequency transposition means are configurable by at least two frequency modification parameters (C R ,F K , F HL , W). The method comprises manually adjusting at least two control elements (7) each associated with a different one of at least two auditory perceptive dimensions (H, D, V, A), and automatically setting said at least two frequency modification parameters (C R , F K , F HL ,W) based on said adjusting of said at least two control elements (7). An alternative method is proposed, comprising manually adjusting at least one control element associated with one of said at least two frequency modification parameters, and determining based on said adjusting a qualitative prediction value for each of at least two auditory perceptive dimensions. Moreover, corresponding apparatuses for adjusting a hearing device comprising frequency transposition means are presented.

    • A self-administered hearing testing comprises carrying out a first and second test comprising adjustment by the patient of the sound pressure level of at least one audio stimulus to the same specified hearing perception level and selection of the corresponding sound pressure level, thereby generating a first and a second test result corresponding to the values of the sound pressure levels selected by the patient; comparing the first test result and the second test result. The result of the test is accepted or rejected based on the closeness of the test results, and feedback is provided to the patient based on this closeness. In consequence, since feedback is given based on closeness of results of the two tests rather than the level at which the patient hears the audio stimulus, the test gives more accurate results than tests based on providing feedback according to absolute hearing ability.
