    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a crater from remaining to a welded part as well as to prevent a base metal except the welded part from damage when welding both base metals at a state where one base metal protrudes from the end of the other base metal. SOLUTION: A bead 14 is built up to K type groove 22 formed to a reinforcing material 12, the reinforcing material is welded to upper/lower flanges 14, 16. An additional length part 28 is extended to an end edge 12d which is a welding end part of the reinforcing material, a groove 30 inclined in the direction separating from a side edge of the upper/lower flanges 14, 16 is formed to the additional length part 28 as continuing to K type groove 22. After welding at the groove 30, a crater 26 is positioned to the additional length part 28. Welding is done to a triangular space S formed between the upper/lower flanges 14, 16 and the groove 30 thereto applying a ceramic tab made of a high melting point material. The ceramic tab is removed in the end, the additional length part 28 is cut off.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the buckling of a steel frame column and the fracture of a flange by connecting a vertical haunch rib striding over the outside face of the steel frame column and the flanges of steel frame beams connected to each other and by providing a stiffener, at least, inside the steel frame column corresponding to the connecting part of the flanges of the steel frame beams and the vertical haunch rib. SOLUTION: A vertical haunch rib 18 is connected striding over the outside face 10a of a steel frame column 10 and flanges 12 of steel frame beams 16. The vertical haunch rib 18 thus functions as a brace between the outside face 10a of the steel frame column 10 and the outside faces 12a of the steel frame beams 16, and load inputted in the haunch rib 18 is received by the stiffener 20 so as to be transmitted to the steel frame beam 16. This constitution can prevent the stress from being concentrated into the joint face between the flange of the steel frame beams and the steel frame column so as to prevent the buckling of the surface of the steel frame column and prevent the fracture of their connecting part.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a plastic deformation detector capable of notifying an inspector of the occurrence of plastic deformation in a steel member without removing a refractory coating or the like of the steel member.
      SOLUTION: The plastic deformation detector 11 detects the occurrence of plastic deformation in the steel member 9 with the refractory coating 10 from heating involved by the deformation. This detector comprises a thermal fuse arranged closely to or adjacently to the steel member so as to be capable of transmitting the heating and having an output terminal out of the refractory coating. The thermal fuse has a melting member having a melting point of 60-80°C and a pair of electric contacts irreversibly opened or closed by melting of the melting member, and transmits change in conducting state of the electric contacts to the output terminal.
