    • There is provided a method, comprising: establishing, by a first network node, a communication connection to at least one advertising device located in a geographically limited service area; establishing a communication connection to at least one advertisement-receiving device; generating at least one security key for encrypting and decrypting at least part of the data which is to be transmitted in D2D communication links, wherein each security key is valid for a predetermined validity period, and common to those at least one advertising device and at least one advertisement-receiving device within the service area which fulfill predetermined criteria; causing transmission of information indicating the generated at least one security key to those at least one advertising device which fulfill the predetermined criteria; and causing transmission of information indicating at least one of the generated at least one security key to those at least one advertisement- receiving device which fulfill the predetermined criteria.

    • The present invention concerns a method and a system for operating broadband public safety mobile communication. The method comprises providing a broadband public safety network PSN that comprises at least a first MS1 and a second MS2 mobile device and a first coverage area; and providing a broadband mobile communication network CN comprising a second coverage area 104. The method comprises detecting the first MS1 and second MS2 mobile devices are residing out of the first coverage area and residing in the second coverage area 104. Then the first MS1 and second MS2 mobile devices are starting to operate in a Device to Device mode 204. The method further comprises: defining a group comprising the first MS1 and second MS2 mobile devices that are communicating in the Device to Device mode. The inventive method comprises determining, by using a selection mechanism comprising one or several timers, which of the first MS1 and second MS2 mobile devices acts as a controlling mobile device for the group 202.

    • There is stored a database of registration information associating UEs with cells under control of different network operators. In response to a inquiry from a first network operator that a first UE desires direct communications with a second UE, the registration information is used to coordinate between the first network operator and the second network operator to facilitate establishment of a direct communication link between the first UE and the second UE. In various embodiments the facilitating is enhancing the inquiry/page by adding a cell ID of the first UE's cell and adding pre-allocated radio resources in the first UE's cell for use by the second UE in responding to the page, and determining a single network which is not highly loaded and which can allocate resources for the D2D communications and directing one or both UEs to that single network.

    • Methods and apparatuses for providing services for a mobile device with access to a cellular system are disclosed. In accordance with a method a mobile device sends to a cellular system a request for a service by a machine type device. The request includes information identifying the machine type device for use by the cellular system that is then used in exchange of information in relation to at least one of authentication, authorisation and configuration. Information associated with configuration of a device-to-machine connection to the machine type device is then sent to the mobile device. The device-to-machine connection for use of the service is then established between the machine type device and the mobile device based on the received information. In another embodiment the mobile device contact the machine type device first and provides the machine type device with information assigned by the cellular system.
