    • PURPOSE:To save power consumption, by providing a transmission-period setting timer circuit having minute capacity, which issues a transmitting command at every specified period, in a temperature observing apparatus forming a unitary body together with an inserting tube including a temperature sensor, which is inserted into a piled material such as coal, and cutting a current during the period except for the time of transmission. CONSTITUTION:An inserting tube 2 incorporating a temperature sensor 3 is inserted into a piled material such as coal. The output is sent to an amplifier circuit 8 compris ing an amplifier part 6 and a data conversion part 7. The temperature data signal S3 from the circuit 8 is sent to an antenna 14 through a transmitting circuit 10 in a transceiver circuit 9, a transmitting part 12b of a radio 12 and a distributer 13. The signal is transmitted to a temperature receiver device 21 from an temperature observing apparatus 1. A call signal S1 from the device 21 is received by the radio 12 in a case 4. A signal S2 from a call detection timer circuit 15 is outputted. A transmitting-period setting timer circuit 16 having minute capacity receives the signal S2 and sends a current to the circuit 8 through a control circuit 17. The current supply from a power source part 18 to the sensor 3, the data conversion part 7 and the trans mitting part 12b is cut except for the transmitting period. Thus the power consumption is saved and maintenance and control are facilitated.
