    • A multicolor printer which can print an image with improved image quality by selecting a desired color reproduction process depending on data to be handled. An output apparatus comprises an input unit 111 for receiving visual data containing data in a command format for output control; image data etc. delivered from an external apparatus; an analyzer 112 for analyzing the input data; a developing unit 113 for developing the input data into output data based on an analyzed result; a color processor 114 for executing color processing such as color space compression on the input data during the development by the developing unit; a color processing method storage 116 for storing a plurality of color processing methods executed by the color processor 114; and a selector 115 for selecting one of the plural color processing methods in the storage 116. When developing the input data by the developing unit 113 into the output data, desired one of the plural color processing methods is selectively used in the output apparatus depending on the input visual data. Thus, optimum color reproduction depending on any of plural types of input data attributes is enabled without increasing load on a host computer.

    • A variable capacity vane compressor has a first oil sump formed in a bottom of a discharge pressure chamber arranged at one side of a cylinder close to one side block, and a second oil sump formed in a bottom of a suction chamber arranged at another side of the cylinder close to the other side block. An oil passageway communicates between the first oil sump and the second oil sump. A control element is arranged in the other side block for rotation about its own axis in opposite directions to thereby vary the compression starting timing. A pressure chamber acts to apply control pressure created from discharge pressure from the cylinder to the control element for causing rotation of the control element. A seal member is fitted on the control element such that part of the seal member is located in the pressure chamber. A high pressure-introducing passageway is formed in the other side block and communicates with the second oil sump. The discharge pressure from the cylinder is introduced into the pressure chamber through the discharge pressure chamber, the first oil sump, the second oil sump, and the high pressure-introducing passageway.

A control element is rotatable substantially in response to the difference between low pressure supplied from a suction chamber and control pressure created from high pressure supplied from a discharge pressure chamber for varying compression starting timing in the compression spaces and hence the capacity of the compressor. A capacity-reducing valve is operable in response to the control pressure for causing pressure within the least one of the compression spaces to leak into a low pressure side when the control element is in such an extreme position as to minimize the capacity of the compressor, to thereby further retard the compression starting timing and hence reduce the compressor capacity.

    • A variable capacity compressor has a control element rotatably arranged within a cylinder, which has two pressure-receiving portions slidably received, respectively, in first and second pressure working chambers formed in the cylinder such that the first pressure working chamber is divided into a first lower-pressure chamber and a first higher-pressure chamber, and the second pressure working chamber into a second lower-pressure chamber and a second higher-pressure chamber. The first and second lower-pressure chambers are supplied with low pressure. A first passage extends between one of the first and second higher-pressure chambers and a compression space for supplying the former with discharge pressure from the latter. A second passage communicates between the first and second higher-pressure chambers. A control valve device is operable in response to suction pressure in the compressor for controlling pressure within the first and second higher-pressure chambers. The control element is rotated in response to change in the difference between pressure within the first and second lower pressure chambers and pressure within the first and second higher-pressure chambers for varying the capacity of the compressor. The compressor includes a third passage extending between the above one of the first and second higher-pressure chambers and a zone under low pressure within the compressor for leaking pressure from the former into the latter. The control valve device is disposed to open and close the third passage in response to the suction pressure.
