    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vacuum cleaner capable of preventing the re-engagement of a mobile engaging part at least when a release button is depressed to open a lid and preventing the deterioration of a suction performance in operation.
      SOLUTION: The vacuum cleaner includes: the lid 3 attached to a cleaner body 1 and energized in an opening direction so as to open/close a dust collection chamber 5; a fixed engaging part 30 attached to the cleaner body 1; the mobile engaging part 20 attached to the lid 3 and engaged with the fixed engaging part 30 when the lid 3 is closed so as to keep the lid 3 closed; the release button 40 arranged on the upper surface of the lid 3 so as to move the mobile engaging part 20 and to release the engagement with the fixed engaging part 30; and a restricting means (a projecting part ) 25 for restricting the sinking-down of the lid 3 when the release button 40 is depressed to release the engagement between the mobile engaging part 20 and the fixed engaging part 30.

    • PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a noise reduction device for effectively reducing noise from a motor with a simple structure, and a vacuum cleaner including it.
      SOLUTION: The noise reduction device 30 is used by being mounted on a blower motor 20 as a noise source, and includes an acoustic tube 31 including a peripheral wall portion 32 for partially surrounding a rotor portion 22 of the blower motor 20 having a fan portion 21 and the rotor portion 22, and a case 35 provided outside of the acoustic tube 31 and wholly surrounding the blower motor 20. The peripheral wall portion 32 of the acoustic tube 31 is formed so as to cover more than half of an opening surface as a sound producing surface which is provided at the rotor portion 22 of the blower motor 20. The case 35 is provided with an exhaust opening 26 for exhausting air outside from the fan portion 21 at a part of the case 35 which opposes the peripheral wall portion 32 of the acoustic tube 31 and a position opposite to the opening surface by 180 degrees.
