    • The invention comprises registration roller pairs which detect a skew amount of a sheet being conveyed; registration roller pairs which perform skew correction of the sheet while the sheet is being conveyed; a punch unit which performs punching of the sheet; a punch-unit driving portion which drives the punch unit; a sheet-edge detecting sensor which performs detection of a sheet edge in a direction intersecting with a sheet conveyance direction; a punch-unit moving device which moves the punch unit in the direction intersecting with the sheet conveyance direction; a sheet detecting sensor which performs detection of a sheet position in the sheet conveyance direction; and a controller portion which performs control such that after skew of the sheet is corrected by the registration roller pairs in accordance with detection results of skew amount sensors, and punching is performed on the sheet by the punch-unit moving device and the punch driving portion in accordance with a detection result of the sheet detecting sensor.

    • A temperature control device includes a first heat source, a second heat source configured to heat a controlled object subjected to temperature control, a first temperature detector configured to detect a temperature of heat from the first heat source, a second temperature detector configured to detect a temperature of the controlled object, a heat transfer member configured to transfer heat produced by the first heat source to the controlled object, a heat-transfer-amount changing unit configured to change the amount of heat transferred to the controlled object by the heat transfer member, and a controller configured to control a transfer state of the heat-transfer-amount changing unit on the basis of an output from the first temperature detector and an output from the second temperature detector.

    • In order to separately detect an abnormal temperature rise at a fixing roller of an image forming apparatus and a disconnection of a thermistor that detects the temperature of the fixing roller, the first and the second resistors are selected and connected to a thermistor for predetermined periods of time. When the first resistor is connected to the thermistor, a disconnection of the thermistor is detected based on a detection voltage that corresponds to the voltage division ratio of the reading for the first resistor to the reading for the thermistor. When the second resistor is connected to the thermistor, an abnormal temperature rise of the fixing roller is detected based on a detection voltage that corresponds to the voltage division ratio of the reading for the second resistor to the reading for the thermistor.
