    • A hermetic motor-compressor for a refrigerating system. The hermetic motor-compressor has a motor component and a compressor component drivingly coupled to each other and disposed within a closed container. The refrigerant gas introduced from an evaporator of a refrigerating system through a return pipe is once released into the space within the closed container and then sucked by the compressor component so as to be compressed and discharged to the outside. A barrier is provided on the outer periphery of the motor and compressor components for preventing a main flow of the refrigerant gas introduced into the closed container through the return pipe from flowing into the circumference of high-temperature portions of the hermetic motor-compressor.

    • In a seal system for a scroll type fluid machine, a seal mechanism is provided between a backpressure plate and a holder, so as to surround an orbiting backpressure chamber. The seal member comprises a seal attachment groove, a seal member and a Y-shaped packing. The seal attachment groove is stepped on its outer circumference to define a shallow bottom portion. The seal member includes, on its outer circumference side, a cutout portion matching the shallow bottom portion. The Y-shaped packing is disposed between a deep groove peripheral wall of the seal attachment groove and the cutout portion of the seal member, and a backpressure chamber is defined on a reverse surface side of the seal member. By this arrangement, a slide surface of the seal member can be larger than an effective area of the backpressure side of the seal member. Thereby it is possible to reduce a difference between a load Ff acting on the slide surface and a load Fb acting on the reverse surface.

    • The present invention provides a scroll type fluid machine having a driving system including a counter weight and a sub weight, in which an efficiency of an assembling operation is enhanced by simplifying an assembling structure of the driving system. In the fluid machine, a sub weight 17 is provided on a rotary shaft 16 and a counter weight 20 is provided on a driving bush 19. The driving bush 19 is attached to the rotary shaft 16 by an attachment bolt 23 to prevent a relative rotation between the rotary shaft and the driving bush. The rotary shaft 16 supported by a main bearing 18 is rotatingly driven by a motor 9, with the result that an orbiting scroll 4 performs an orbiting motion with respect to a fixed scroll 2. With this arrangement, during an assembling operation of the fluid machine, by attaching the attachment bolt 23, a plurality of parts including casing 1, rotary shaft 16, sub weight 17, main bearing 18, driving bush 19, counter weight 20, washer 21 and the like can easily be integrated with each other, thereby enhancing the assembling operation efficiently.
