摘要： It is an object of the present invention to provide signals which allow colors in a wider color range than predetermined standards, which can be handled by apparatus according to such predetermined standards. A primary color converter 62 converts first color signals having primary color points in a wider color range than the primary color points according to BT.709 into second color signals based on the primary colors according to BT.709. A photoelectric transducer 63 converts the second color signals into third color signals according to photoelectric transducer characteristics defined in a numerical range wider than a range from 0 to 1.0 of color signals corresponding to a luminance signal and color difference signals according to BT.709. A color signal converter 64 converts the third color signals into a luminance signal and color difference signals. A corrector 64A incorporated in the color signal converter corrects the color difference signals into color difference signals in a range from −0.57 to 0.56 containing a range from −0.5 to 0.5 according to BT.709, which color difference signals are assigned to an integral value in a range from 1 to 254 containing a range from 16 to 240 according to BT.709. The present invention is applicable to a video camera, for example.

摘要： An object of the invention is to provide a granulation method and a granulation apparatus that can reduce the manufacturing costs of pellets. There is provided a granulation method which uses an underwater cutting (UWC) device 107 that cuts a medium to be processed extruded from holes of a die 106 by using cutter blades provided in a circulation box 109 and conveys the cut pellets from the circulation box 109 while cooling the cut pellets by pellet cooling/transport water (PCW). The granulation method includes circulating the PCW and stopping the circulation of the PCW after pushing the cutter blades against the die 106 while rotating the cutter blades, before the start of the granulation; storing a predetermined amount of PCW in the circulation box 109 by discharging the PCW; and heating the PCW, which is stored in the circulation box 109, up to 69° C. or more.

摘要： Provided are a projector capable of correcting a polarization state properly and improving image quality, a retardation plate being used in a projector or the like and being capable of correcting a polarization state properly, and a method of placing a retardation plate. A quarter-wave plate (22) is placed between a reflective spatial light modulator (21) and a PBS (20). The quarter-wave plate (22) includes a combination of a first retardation plate (41) and a second retardation plate (42) each producing a different phase difference. The phase differences produced by two retardation plates (41), (42) are set to be suitable amounts of phase difference according to a position state, so in spite of the fact that the quarter-wave plate (22) including the combination of two retardation plates, the quarter-wave plate (22) can correct the polarization state properly with performance equal to or higher than that in the case where the quarter-wave plate includes a single plate.
