摘要： In a printing device according to the present invention, a housing assembly comprises a pair of housings which are rockably supported, with their respective open end portions abutting against each other. A platen is disposed in an abutment region where the open end portions abut. A keyboard is provided on the one housing, while a printing element is disposed inside the other housing. When the printing device is in a nonusable position, the two housings extend along one plane, thus defining a flat, rectangular outline of the housing assembly. When the device is in a usable position, the housings are rocked relatively, thus defining a substantially L-shaped outline of the housing assembly. As the housings rock in this manner, the printing element is brought to a printing position, where the element faces the platen.

摘要： A sheet storage case for storing therein a stack of sheets. The sheet storage case is assembled into a sheet feeding device which feeds out an uppermost sheet of the stack of sheets. The sheet storage case includes a bottom plate, a first positioning member fixedly secured to the bottom plate and a slidably movable second positioning member provided in the bottom plate. The second positioning member has a sheet receiving portion for receiving the stack of sheets. The second positioning member is movable toward and away from the first positioning member. To mount a stack of sheet on the sheet storage case, the second positioning member is moved away from the first positioning member, the sheets are placed on the sheet receiving portion, and then the second positioning member is moved toward the first positioning member. The side edges of the sheets are aligned, because the sheets are fittedly interposed between the two positioning members. The uppermost sheet is taken out by a mechanism which includes a suction cut which is brought to contact with the uppermost sheet to attract the latter. The suction cup to which the sheet is attracted is swung in the position above the sheet storage case to separate the uppermost sheet from the reminder.

The image forming device is provided with a motion sensor in a paper transfer path thereof for detecting the surface condition of an idle roller moving in accordance with the paper, and transfer of the paper is controlled on the basis of surface condition signals generated by the motion sensor. The motion sensor makes laser light, which is irradiated by a semiconductor laser, hit on an outer peripheral surface of the idle roller that rotates accompanying the transfer of paper and the reflected light is received by a two-dimensional semiconductor image sensor. Then, the surface condition signals are detected on the basis of speckle patterns generated in the reflected light.

While the photosensitive recording medium is being exposed to light through the light-transmissive sheet, a next light-shielding image to be exposed can successively be formed on the light-transmissive sheet.
