摘要： An implement, particularly useful as a medical implement for applying a suture to a body tissue, includes a handle and shaft formed with a pair of channels extending from the proximal end of the handle through the distal end of the shaft and through a pair of jaws carried at the distal end of the shaft. The pair of channels converge towards each other to a cross-over point, and then diverging away from each other where existing at the distal end of the shaft. The channels are dimensioned to enable a piercing instrument to be passed first through one of the channels to pierce the body with a first bore, and then through the other of the channels to pierce the body with the second bore, such that the two bores have entry ends precisely spaced a predetermined distance from each other, and exit ends precisely spaced a larger predetermined distance from each other.

摘要： Systems and methods for preparing a bone for a surgical procedure are provided. In general, the described techniques use a surgical guide device including a cannula having first and second parallel elongate channels adjacent to one another, and first and second elongate sleeves configured to be removably and replaceably received in the first and second channels, respectively. The first sleeve has a plurality of openings formed therein, each being in communication with a respective wire-receiving lumen extending through the first sleeve. Each of the openings defines a different offset distance between the wire-receiving lumen in communication with that opening and a wire-receiving lumen extending through the second sleeve. The surgical device can be manipulated so as to define positions of first and second openings in a bone, such as a glenoid or other bone, to receive bone screws or other elements for attaching a bone graft to the bone.

The collar (2) comprises a plate including a neck hole (4) to receive a neck portion, such that the collar can rotate about the neck portion. The collar (2) further comprises a plurality of attachment portions (12) for coupling the plate to bone fragments or soft tissues. The collar (2) is lockable to the neck portion to prevent further rotation. A prosthesis comprising a combination of a collar (2), a prosthetic component and an articulation component, and a surgical method of using the collar (2) are also disclosed.

摘要： A method of repairing separations in the capsular labrum structure, in which the head of the humerus bone separates from the glenoid cavity of the glenoid, by: producing a first plurality of anchor points in an anterior face of the rim of the glenoid; producing a second plurality of anchor points in a corresponding anterior face of the neck of the glenoid; and utilizing the first and second plurality of anchor points for attaching the tendons to the glenoid. Also described is an apparatus for use in repairing separations in a capsular labrum structure including a drill guide having a proximal end formed with a handle, and a distal end formed with a surface configured for engaging a posterior face of the neck of the glenoid to properly fix the position of the drill guide with respect to the glenoid. The drill guide is formed with a passageway sized and configured for receiving a drill for drilling a bore through the neck of the glenoid, with the entry point of the drill at the posterior face of the glenoid neck, and the exit point of the drill at the anterior face of the glenoid neck slightly spaced from the glenoid rim.
