    • Provided is a battery pack comprising: a battery-module-arranging body in which 2 or more rows of battery modules are transversely arranged having a structure resulting from the vertical stacking of unit modules housing two or more battery cells or battery cells themselves; a base plate where battery modules are stacked standing vertically; a pair of main members which are respectively positioned against the front surface and the rear surface of the battery-module-arranging body in order to support the weight of the battery modules, and having a structure whereby both end parts are fastened to an external device; a pair of end plates in intimate contact with the front surface and the rear surface of the battery-module-arranging body, in a state in which the bottom ends are secured to the base plate; and a supporting bar which links both sides of the side surfaces or the upper part of the end plates in order to mutually link and support the end plates; wherein the end plates are integrally formed to a size corresponding to the front surface or the rear surface of the battery-module-arranging body so as to be able to minimise deformation of the battery pack in response to vibration in the vertical direction.

    • The present invention provides a large or medium battery module having a structure in which secondary batteries or unit modules with built-in two or more secondary batteries are stacked in a vertical direction, wherein the battery module comprises a base plate on which unit modules are stacked in a vertical direction such that the unit modules stand upright; a pair of end plates, each of which having a lower end fixed on the base plate and which tightly contacts the respective outer surfaces of the outermost unit modules; and supporting bars which interconnect upper sides or lateral sides of the end plates so as to interconnect and support the end plates. To distribute the pressure (bending load) applied from the unit modules and the supporting bars, each of the end plates includes a main body which contacts the unit module, and an upper wall, a lower wall and a pair of side walls protrude outwardly from the outer periphery of the main body, wherein each of said side walls has a thickness increasing from the upper wall toward the lower wall.

    • The present invention relates to a cooling member having improved cooling efficiency which is to be mounted above and/or under a battery module or battery pack in order to remove heat generated from battery cells during charging and discharging. The cooling member includes: a thermally conductive medium including terraced coupling plates, the lengths of which are mutually different, wherein a refrigerant passage is defined between the interfaces of the coupling plates; and a refrigerant pipe having a hollow structure through which refrigerant flows, the refrigerant pipe including a main pipe and at least one branch pipe vertically extending when the branch pipe is in communication with the main pipe, so as to communicate with the refrigerant passage of the thermally conductive medium. In one end of the refrigerant passage of the thermally conductive medium, a mounting groove having a shape corresponding to that of an outer surface of the branch pipe is defined in the plate, from among the plurality coupling plates, which has a relatively long length, and an auxiliary plate surrounding the outer surface of the branch pipe is mounted when the branch pipe is mounted on the mounting groove.
