摘要： A recording apparatus has a recording head and a container for ink to be supplied to the recording head. An amount of ink expected to be used in the recording of image data is calculated. The amount of ink actually used in the recording is detected. Comparison of the expected amount of ink used with the actual amount permits a determination whether abnormal recording has occurred.

摘要： This invention has as its object to provide an image recording apparatus, which can omit a color processing calculation process for designated colors of an image when color processing results for all the colors, which may be designated upon image drawings, can be held, and can increase an image recording processing speed without impairing color reproducibility of an image. Upon conversion from color coordinate values in a color space for designating image colors of input image data from a host computer (2) into color coordinate values in a color space inherent to the recording apparatus, a CPU (1) registers, in a color processing table (7b), the color coordinate values in the color space inherent to the recording apparatus for all the colors input as image data, and performs color coordinate conversion by retrieving the color coordinate values held in the color processing table (7c) as much as possible upon execution of the color coordinate conversion in place of performing a color processing calculation in each conversion.

摘要： An output apparatus comprises: a producing circuit for receiving code data indicative of a pattern to be generated and for producing a pattern based on the code data; an interruption instructing circuit for instructing the interruption of the outputting process; and a retreating circuit for retreating the code data which had already been received before the interruption was instructed in the case where the interruption has been instructed by the interruption instructing circuit. The code data is expressed by a page describing language. The preceding code data is retreated by a different data format when the outputting process has been interrupted. The recording process which has been interrupted can be restarted from the interrupted state by returning the retreated data from the auxiliary memory.

摘要： An output method and apparatus derive a plurality of respective time factors, each of which represents the time required to output a pattern in correspondence with a respective output resolution. The time factors are derived in response to data representing the pattern, and one of the output resolutions is selected for outputting the pattern in response to each of the plurality of respective derived time factors. As a result, the pattern can be output at the highest resolution possible in a set period of time.
