    • PURPOSE:To obtain the title material for contact lens with no need for boiling sterilization, resistant to staining, wearable for many hours by reaction among a unsaturated group-contg. polysiloxane, acrylic ester, fluorine-contg. acrylic ester and lacrimal membrane stabilizer. CONSTITUTION:Firstly, a radical polymerization initiator is added to a mixture comprising (A) 20-90 pts.wt. of a polyorganosiloxane monomer of formula I [(b) is integer: 1-700; A is a group of formula II ((r) is integer: >=1; R1 is H or methyl)], (B) 5-60 pts.wt. of a (meth)acrylic ester (e.g. n-butyl methacrylate), (C) 3-40 pts.wt. of a fluorine-contg. (meth)acrylic ester (e.g. 2,2,2,2',2',2'- hexafluoroisopropyl methacrylate), and (D) a lacrimal membrane stabilizer (e.g. acrylic acid). Then the resulting mixture is injected into a mold for contact lens followed by heating to 95 deg.C to carry out polymerization. After polymerization, the resultant polymer is demolded and put to a secondary heating treatment at 130 deg.C, thus obtaining the objective material for medical use consisting of a polymer of three-dimensional network structure.
