    • In a non-limiting and exemplary embodiment, a method is provided for arranging access to locally connectable devices. A target direction is estimated on the basis of a user input. A communication device residing substantially at the target direction is defined. Before or after the identification of the communication device, access information associated with the communications device is received without establishing a connection to the communication device and without any information of earlier connection to the communication device. The device at target direction communication device and/or a service is connected on the basis of the access information associated with the identified communication device.

    • A system for managing the simultaneous operation of a plurality of radio modems in a single wireless communication device (WCD). The multiradio control may be integrated into the WCD as a subsystem responsible for scheduling wireless communications by temporarily enabling or disabling the plurality of radio modems within the device. The multiradio control system may comprise a multiradio controller (MRC) and a plurality dedicated radio interfaces. The radio interfaces are dedicated to quickly conveying delay sensitive information to and from the radio modems. The modems may further include control features that take information from the MRC as an input in determining the priority of messages to be sent out to a receiving device.

In regards to a method implemented by a master device, a scan for an advertisement is caused to be performed and an advertisement packet is received during the scan that defines a time period in which the source device of the advertisement packet will be performing a page scan. The method also determines the time period in which the source device of the advertisement packet will be performing the page scan. The method also causes a page to be issued during the time period in which the source device of the advertisement packet will be performing the page scan, and then receives a page response in response to the page.     • The invention relates to a method and to a modulator for modulating signals. The signals are to be transmitted by a device in packets via an air interface. Each packet is supposed to comprise at least one entity of at least two different entities, which different entities are employed for transmitting signals representing different kinds of information. In order to enable a higher data rate, signals that are to be transmitted in at least one of said different entities are modulated with a first set of values of at least one modulation parameter of a selected modulation scheme. Further, signals that are to be transmitted in at least one other of said different entities are modulated with a second set of values of said at least one modulation parameter, said second set of values comprising less values than said first set of values.

    • A system and method are disclosed for reducing interference in simultaneous wireless LAN (WLAN) and wireless personal area network (PAN) signal handling in mobile wireless terminals having both a WLAN and a PAN interface. The wireless terminal includes a first transceiver operating in the PAN network in a communications band and a first communications protocol transmitting first data units. The wireless terminal also includes a second transceiver operating in the WLAN network in substantially the same communications band and a second communications protocol transmitting second data units. The wireless terminal further includes a controller coupled to the first and second transceivers, assigning a higher transmission priority to the second data units than to the first data units when transmission of the second data units overlaps a first occurring transmission of the first data units, to abort transmission of the first occurring data unit. The controller assigns a higher transmission priority to the aborted first data unit than to the second data units when transmission of the second data units overlaps the retransmission of the aborted first data unit, to transmit the aborted first data unit.
