    • A downhole valve has a closure device (e.g., one or more flappers) for closing off the valve. A no-go actuation mechanism protects the flappers from damage. When the flappers are closed, the mechanism prevents a tool from passing into the valve and causing damage to the flappers. Yet, the mechanism may open the valve's flappers when the tool string is forced into the valve. When the valve has successfully opened, then the mechanism moves out of the way of the toolstring so it can pass through the valve. For the mechanically operated valves, operators use a shifting profile in the valve only in the upward direction to return the valve to the closed position. For hydraulic actuated valves, hydraulic pressure may be used or exhausted, depending on the design, to allow the flappers to go closed. Once the flappers have closed, the no-go mechanism is once again realized.

    • A satellite dish cleaning apparatus and method is disclosed in one preferred embodiment of the present invention as including a handle member removably disposed within an elongated opening integrally formed at a first end of an intermediate member. The intermediate member is preferably formed having a substantially curvilinear neck portion extending substantially at an angle between approximately 10.degree. to 170.degree. from the first end to a second end of the intermediate member. Preferably, formed at the second end of the intermediate member is a retaining assembly for removably retaining a first end of a satellite dish engaging member. In addition, formed at a second end of the satellite dish engaging member is a contacting surface having a configuration substantially conforming with the concave facing surface of a satellite dish. In the preferred embodiment, the contacting surface of the removable satellite dish engaging member may comprise, for example, a rigid angular scraping and/or scooping means, a cleaning brush, or a resilient, elastomeric material.

    • A method is for selectively locking two frame members of a window or door to prevent sliding movement of one frame relative to the other. The method involves providing an aperture in one frame, securing a sleeve to the other frame in alignment with the aperture, inserting a bolt through the sleeve and into the aperture. The bolt includes two lengths which are pivotably connected together. When the bolt is in retracted position, one portion of the bolt can be pivoted relative to the other portion of the bolt and then moved along a line perpendicular to the axis of the first portion of the bolt.
