    • Disclosed is a method of requesting bandwidth allocation by an MS having at least two CIDs in a communication system, the method including the steps of detecting at least one CID needing the bandwidth allocation; when a plurality of CIDs are detected, generating a grant management subheader including a region for recording the total number of the CIDs needing bandwidth allocation and a region for recording bandwidth information of a generic MAC header CID, and a grant management subheader including, for each of the CIDs needing bandwidth allocation, other than the generic MAC header CID, a region for recording the order of a corresponding CID given in a MS CID list and a region for recording bandwidth information of the corresponding CID; and transmitting the generic MAC header with the grant management subheaders concatenated thereto to a BS.

    • A method is provided for synchronizing Connection IDentifiers (CIDs) of a first station and a second station in a communication system. The CID synchronization method includes sending, by the first station, a first message for requesting addition of a service flow identified by a CID to the second station; sending, by the second station, a second message which is a response message to the first message, and at the same time, setting a number of a frame where the second message is transmitted as a first start frame number; sending, by the first station, a third message for acknowledging receipt of the second message to the second station, and at the same time, setting a number of a frame where the third message is transmitted as a second start frame number; performing, by each of the first station and the second station, a modulo operation on a frame having the first or second start frame number and its succeeding frames using a positive integer for each frame, and detecting a number of a frame where a result value of the modulo operation becomes zero (0); and simultaneously updating CID lists of the first station and the second station at a frame having the detected frame number with regard to a CID of the added service flow.

    • A system and method for switching a session of a User Equipment (UE) in a wireless communication system are provided. According to the method, if the UE performs a handover from a macro base station of a macro cell to a femto base station of a femto cell, a femto base station transmits a path switch request message, which includes a serving gateway relocation Information Element (IE), to a Mobility Management Entity (MME) of the macro cell, in order to request a switching from an existing session of the UE to a new session managed by the femto base station. Then, in response to the path switch request message, the MME switches the existing session of the UE to the new session and transmits a path switch approval message to the femto base station. The serving gateway relocation IE includes information requesting relocation of a serving gateway of the UE to a femto serving gateway within the femto cell.
